Cherwell Cats Protection Cherwell CP care for cats and kittens in need around Bicester, Banbury, Brackley and Chipping Norton. We rescue, foster and rehome cats.

Cherwell Cats Protection cover Bicester, Banbury, Brackley and Chipping Norton. As well as this we offer free advice to cat owners who are in need of guidance. We meet regularly to review cat welfare issues, re-homing, fund-raising and other business. As a team we rescue, neuter, foster, rehabilitate and re-home up to 25 cats and kittens each month but there are always more on our waiting list. Our foster homes cater for tiny kittens and their mums, larger kittens, adult neutered cats and cats needing treatment. Every cat we bring in has a basic vet check which involves vaccination, flea/worm treatment and a general health check. This costs approximately £150 per cat and very often, especially in the case of a stray, there are more serious problems which need addressing. If you then take into account the cost of food, heat, litter etc. all the things that contribute to keeping a cat, you realise just how much money we need to raise, just to keep going. We are a relatively small branch with limited resources in both personnel and finances and rely on a group of enthusiastic volunteers to care for the cats and raise the money to enable us to do so, it's donations from everyday people like you which mean we can continue our work. The branch membership is £10.00 per year, as a member you receive updates on are work and are invited to get involved in anyway you are willing to help. Bobbles is affectionate, loving and playful – honestly, what more could you ask for?She’s a lovely girl in every way and has so much love to give to the lucky person who welcomes her into their life.

Just look at this handsome boy!
Meet Tank! Despite his big, tank-like appearance, this gorgeous boy is a gentle giant with so much love to give.
Tank was found living as a stray, and although we don’t know what his life was like before he came into our care, we know he deserves a future filled with love, comfort and security.
We estimate Tank to be around 3 years old, so he’s still a young boy with plenty of life ahead of him. Now, all he needs is someone willing to give him the second chance he deserves.
Tank has sadly tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). This doesn’t mean he can’t live a happy, comfortable life!
Because of his FIV status, Tank needs to live as an indoor-only cat, or ideally, have access to a secure, cat-proof garden where he can safely enjoy the fresh air without wandering off or coming into contact with other cats.

He’s around 8 years old, incredibly affectionate, and loves nothing more than receiving lots of fuss and attention.

Simba would be best suited to a quieter, peaceful home, ideally with older children and no other pets, where he can feel safe, settled and truly cherished.

Shadow is a loving, gentle chap who enjoys the quieter things in life. You’ll often find him happily watching the world go by from the window before settling down for a lovely sunny snooze.

He absolutely loves his Dreamies and is partial to a little fuss, especially a good chin scratch!

As Shadow is 11 he would be happiest in a calm, peaceful home where he can take life at his own pace. He’d make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a gentle, laid-back friend to share their days with.

The wait is over, you can now sign up to the winter craftalong. This year we return to craft favourite embroidery, where you'll learn how to make a Christmas stocking. 🎄

The stocking kit comes in two festive colour choices (red or green). It includes elements of embroidery and hand sewing as you put your stocking together and personalise it with the cute cat-themed and festive patterns included in the kit alongside a handy letter template guide. 🪡

The craftalong will take place on Saturday 5 December at 10am, hosted by Sammy at Paraffle Embroidery. This will be Sammy's fourth craftalong! 👩‍🏫

We will have a selection of Tombola, Bric a Brac, Books Toys Games, Home Made Cakes, Handicrafts, Merchandise, Raffle & Refreshments! It's fun, and every pound raised goes to cats in our care.
