Cherwell Cats Protection Cherwell CP care for cats and kittens in need around Bicester, Banbury, Brackley and Chipping Norton. We rescue, foster and rehome cats.

Cherwell Cats Protection cover Bicester, Banbury, Brackley and Chipping Norton. As well as this we offer free advice to cat owners who are in need of guidance. We meet regularly to review cat welfare issues, re-homing, fund-raising and other business. As a team we rescue, neuter, foster, rehabilitate and re-home up to 25 cats and kittens each month but there are always more on our waiting list. Ou

r foster homes cater for tiny kittens and their mums, larger kittens, adult neutered cats and cats needing treatment. Every cat we bring in has a basic vet check which involves vaccination, flea/worm treatment and a general health check. This costs approximately £150 per cat and very often, especially in the case of a stray, there are more serious problems which need addressing. If you then take into account the cost of food, heat, litter etc. all the things that contribute to keeping a cat, you realise just how much money we need to raise, just to keep going. We are a relatively small branch with limited resources in both personnel and finances and rely on a group of enthusiastic volunteers to care for the cats and raise the money to enable us to do so, it's donations from everyday people like you which mean we can continue our work. The branch membership is £10.00 per year, as a member you receive updates on are work and are invited to get involved in anyway you are willing to help. That’s right, we’re bringing you the first ever Craft for Cats crochet kit, eek!

We’re so excited to let you know sign ups are now open for the very first crochet craftalong! 🎟

This summer you’ll learn how to master the basic techniques of crochet to create a cat-shaped storage basket. We’ll teach you everything from how to hold your crochet hook, to helping you build confidence and develop fluency in core stitches using UK terms. Pick from five different kit colour options and make your own furry friend in crochet form. You’ll make the perfect basket to store your favourite things, or theirs! 🐈

The kit costs £22 and we're excited to welcome The Left Hookery to our Craft for Cats world as our crochet craft partner and host of the crochet craftalong on Saturday 4th July. Cherwell Cats Protection receives a £10 donation for each kit sold.

Dot is a 5 year old boy cat who is looking for a forever home. He’s an affectionate boy who loves cuddles and will make a lovely addition to any home. He has never lived with children but given his placid nature we think he could live with older children. He has lived with another cat and may be able to live with a dog that is used to cats. Originally a stray, George was with us for quite a while as he had a skin condition which was difficult to treat. He is FIV positive so he also needed an indoor home. Well he’s landed on his paws. Not only has he found the perfect home he’s also enjoying a bromance with another FIV positive cat called Hugo 💕🐾
