🎉 We are incredibly proud to announce that Chippenham Sea Cadets has been awarded both a Pennant and a Captain's Commendation!

This recognition is especially meaningful given the challenges our unit has faced since the devastating flooding in November 2024.

Over the past months, our cadets, volunteers, trustees and supporters have pulled together, adapting to difficult circumstances while continuing to provide opportunities, training and adventures for our young people. Their commitment, positivity and hard work have made this achievement possible.

These awards are not just a reflection of what we have accomplished, but of how we have come together as a team in the face of adversity. We are stronger because of the challenges we have overcome and we are excited about what lies ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. We share this success with every cadet, volunteer, parent, supporter and friend of the unit.

Here's to the future of Chippenham Sea Cadets – continuing to grow, achieve and inspire. ⚓

On Friday, we said goodbye to Able Cadet Jorg as he reached his 18th birthday and came to the end of his cadet journey.

Jorg joined Sea Cadets in 2018 and has achieved an impressive amount during his time with us. His accomplishments include gaining his First Aid at Work, engineering and seamanship qualifications and earning a BTEC qualification - alongside hundreds of boating hours!

Throughout his years in Sea Cadets, Jorg has shown commitment and resilience, remaining an active member through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He has also proudly represented Chippenham in a number of competitions, progressing all the way to Area.

We would like to thank Jorg for his dedication and contribution to the unit over the past eight years. We wish him every success in the future and look forward to welcoming him back as an adult volunteer.

Congratulations to all of our cadets who have recently achieved new qualifications and promotions!

Two of our cadets spent a weekend in Weymouth, successfully completing their Rowing Coxswain Module. Several cadets have also passed their swimming tests, been promoted, and one of our Juniors earned their Yellow (Community) badge.
Cadet Penny also spent a week sailing with Tall Ships and achieved their RYA Start Yachting Qualification.

Every year Chippenham Town Council invites self-nominations from cadet forces across the town to take part in an interview process with the incoming Mayor, for the positions of Mayor’s Cadet and Deputy Mayor’s Cadet during the Mayor’s term of office.

We are very proud to announce that Able Cadet Reuben has been appointed as the Mayor’s Cadet, and Ordinary Cadet Owen as the Deputy Mayor’s Cadet.
