"From the mountain to the sea I am the river and the river is me" 🌀🏞️

Last week in Bath we were invited to be involved with the signing of the Avon Bioregional Charter.

As river guardians of our stretch of the river Mati spoke about what we are doing as river guardians and how we are acting. Mati also read out the charter with another young person from We are Avon and held the tail of the spirit of the Avon, for the parade.

Embuggening thanks (huge thanks!) to for broadening our knowledge of q***r ecology. You are so interesting to listen to and we all really enjoyed it. The walk was followed by a delicious spread, fun quiz and making zines at We loved working on this event with too 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🪲

(Wet) hats off to for an amazing festival and for letting us do our plantwave jam and young people's speakers corner in your community garden space.
There is always such a relaxing and inspiring vibe at the festival, and we were so honoured to be a part of it!
The plantwave jam consisted of a sea of umbrellas above our synth, which was connected to either some festival wildflowers of some houseplants that'd had a tough journey there.
Luckily towards the end the rain stopped and we could get out a few instruments for fellow Shambalans to jam with!

For the duration of the speakers corner it was heavily raining, but we luckily had a shelter. It was very empowering amplifying all of the youth activists voices, and thank you to all the people who came and listened.

We can't wait for this tomorrow, an event we have planned with Pride in Chippenham. The free walk with ecologist Connor Butler starts by the basketball courts in Monkton park at 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday 2nd) followed by a chaos quiz and zine workshop at Cousin Norman's from 8! Hopefully see you there. Huge thanks to Chippenham Town Council for funding the event 💚

We had a fun warm up for our plant jam last night at Cousin Normans! We will have two slots at shambala festival, holding a speakers corner for young people on the Saturday and a jam with plants on the Sunday.
Also shout out to Cousin Norman's for serving the best vegan fish and chips we have ever had! 😋

Young people REALLY need adults to step up and face the realities of the situation we are all in, so please attend this event if you can. More info in the description from Zero Chippenham. Huge gratitude to them for putting this on.
We won't be there as the Climate Psychology Alliance recommends it is for those aged 16+ - we are committed to listening to all advice around children and young people's mental health within this arena. We really hope it goes well and look forward to hopefully making more connections after the event 🌿💚

📢 A special community screening: The People’s Emergency Briefing

What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK?

Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening 50-minute film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:

🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🏥 Health
💷 Cost of living

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.

After the film there will be an open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do next, and a chance to chat more over some refreshments.

Bring a friend, neighbour or family member: everyone is welcome (although please note the advisory age is 16+)

Our MP, Sarah Gibson, will be alongside constituents to watch and reflect.
