Our weekly SEN schools are back for the new academic year, and enjoying pumpkin season! They've been harvesting pumpkins grown in the Bore Place Market Garden, and they'll be carving, cooking and baking with them over the coming weeks.

Additional Needs Club at Bore Place - a holiday club where young people can explore, learn and grow

Our club gives young people aged 8–17 with mild to moderate additional needs or SEN the chance to spend time outdoors, try new things and build confidence and independence – while parents and carers get a well-deserved break.

From exploring our woodland and wildlife to den building, bushcraft, gardening, crafts and cooking, each session is shaped around the group and the seasons 🌳🐞

The club is supported by Kent County Council Short Breaks and available for children living in Kent.

A pre-visit is required for new children so we can get to know them and make sure the club is a good fit - please get in touch to arrange a visit 📩 mailto:[email protected]

Our new 25-year strategy brings together five things at the heart of Bore Place: education, land, food, research and community, with two strategic priorities guiding our work over the next 25 years.

🌱 A climate-resilient landscape
Demonstrating how food production, nature recovery and water management can work together in a changing climate.

🥕 Transforming local food systems
Exploring how local food can produce healthy food, restore nature, strengthen communities and support a viable future for farming.

Together, these priorities will create a living demonstration at Bore Place – where we can learn, test and share practical ways to create positive change, and inspire others to do the same.

Join us at Bore Place for an Evening of Mindful Stargazing with astrophysicist and mindfulness teacher Mark Westmoquette.

Rather than simply looking out at the stars, mindful stargazing invites you to become immersed in the experience of the night sky – noticing, listening and developing a deeper sense of your place within the Universe.

📅 Thurs 08 October

Bore Place is committed to organic growing.

From the food served in the Bore Place kitchen (see pics!) to the produce grown in our gardens, we’re continuing to explore how we can grow, cook and eat in ways that are better for nature and people.

As we look ahead, we’re expanding our horticulture and growing more crops organically, while bringing our Community Garden to life with the help of volunteers, students and the wider community.

It’s all part of our vision for the next 50 years: learning, testing and sharing practical ways to restore nature, build climate resilience and strengthen local food systems🥕🌿

If you'd like to get involved with the Community Garden, we'd love to hear from you! Please email 📩 [email protected]
