Explore Graylingwell’s rich history on our Walk and Talk events!

Once a sanctuary for patients, the Chapel now serves as a hub of historical discovery chronicling over a century of care. Delve into the fascinating history of Graylingwell Park, planned as the West Sussex County Lunatic Asylum but known throughout its operating life as Graylingwell Hospital. Discover the enduring Victorian and other historical buildings as you learn about the pioneering mental health care provided here from 1897 to 2001.

Arrive by 1pm at the beautifully restored Graylingwell Chapel.

At 1.15 pm, set off from the Chapel on a captivating walking tour led by local historian Greg Slay.

Return to the Chapel afterwards by 3pm for a hot drink and a tasty treat from The Chapel Café and an opportunity to view the exhibits and reflect on the walk’s discoveries.

💚 National Volunteers' Week 💚

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to every single person who has supported Chichester Community Development Trust over the years.

As a charity, we simply couldn't create the impact we do without our amazing volunteers. Whether you're a Trustee helping to guide the organisation, a group host welcoming people into our activities, a gardener helping our spaces thrive, a leaflet deliverer spreading the word, a children's activity host inspiring young people, a supporter behind the scenes, or someone who has given their time and skills in any way along the journey – thank you.

Your dedication, enthusiasm and generosity help strengthen our community every day, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

We're always looking for more people to get involved. Our most urgent volunteer vacancies at the moment are:
📬 Leaflet Delivery Volunteers
📊 Treasurer

If you'd like to find out more about volunteering with us, please contact [email protected].

To celebrate the end of Volunteers' Week, we're inviting all volunteers, past and present, to join us for a relaxed get-together at The Shed this Sunday 7th June at midday for drinks and nibbles.

Bring along a drink and something to share, and come and enjoy good company as we celebrate everything our volunteers have helped us achieve.

Thank you for being part of our community. Together, we're making a difference. 💚

Last time’s discussion was full of surprising ideas and brilliant conversation and we’d love even more voices in the room next time. Whether you’re a lifelong reader or just getting back into books, there’s a seat for you.

Come for the book, stay for the conversation.

A huge thank you to Annies food inspiration for kicking off our Sundowners this year and a very warm welcome to EDGE Tea & Coffee who will be taking over for the remainder of the summer months.

Heads up there will be no Sundowners on the weekend of the 5th-7th June but we will be back with a bang on Friday 12th June as Edge open their pop up offering a mixture of live and ambient music, cocktails, draft beer and Hennings wines.

Keep your eye on the socials or visit our website for up to date information. We hope to see you there!
