The Chichester Four Streets Project

The Chichester Four Streets Project We are a volunteer group dedicated to providing an evening meal to those in Chichester who are homeless, vulnerably housed or simply hungry.

We are a friendly and compassionate group of volunteers who work together to help homeless, hungry and vulnerably housed people in Chichester. Our takeaway supper club is open 6.30pm to 7pm, every night of the year, in the garden of St Paul’s Church, Churchside, Chichester PO19 6FT. We provide food, hot soup/chocolate and water. We also provide some essential items to those sleeping out, e.g. slee

ping bags and ground mats. We also give signposting advice on local services that may be able to provide help and support. You can find more information at our website: www.fourstreetschichester.org.uk

ℹ️ Cold weather update

❄️ There’s currently an Amber Cold Heath Alert in place for our area until 10am on Friday 9 January and a Yellow Met Office warning in place for snow and ice until Wednesday morning.

Cold weather can affect anyone, but some people are particularly at risk. Please look out for vulnerable friends and family by checking that they have access to warm food and drinks and are managing to heat their homes.

The Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP), which was activated last week, will continue to run until Thursday 8 January. SWEP is part of a package of ongoing support that is available to those who are homeless or rough sleeping throughout the year. SWEP offers additional support during severe weather to respond to the heightened risk for rough sleepers during this time. Our outreach team will continue to be out and about making sure that rough sleepers are aware of the SWEP provision as well as the ongoing support that is available to them.

You can find links to more information and advice in the comments.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all our clients, volunteers and supporters. Thank you for all that you do!!!

24/12/2025

Due to the lower temperatures predicted over the next few days we will be putting in place our Severe Weather Escalation Protocol (SWEP) from 25 December – 29 December and from 31 December until 1 January.

SWEP is part of a package of ongoing support that is available to those who are homeless or rough sleeping throughout the year. SWEP offers additional support during severe weather to respond to the heightened risk for rough sleepers during this time. Our outreach team works in partnership with local services and charities including Stonepillow, and they are out every day offering support. They will continue to be out and about making sure that rough sleepers are aware of the SWEP provision as well as the ongoing support that is available to them.

To access emergency night accommodation tonight, rough sleepers should contact Stonepillow in St Cyriacs, Chichester, before 4pm to be given details of where and how to get access that night. Anyone that needs to access the service outside of these hours can contact the out of hours team on 01243 785339.

Please pass this message on to anyone who may need it. If you are concerned about someone who is rough sleeping, please report via the Streetlink app or the link in our comments section, which will be sent directly to our outreach services.

Huge thanks to the knitting group at Wellington Grange Care Home for their support - it is hugely appreciated by our people, particularly as the weather turns colder. A very happy Christmas and peaceful New Year to you all πŸ‘πŸŒ²β€οΈπŸ‘πŸŒŸ

The Wellington Grange Knitting Group has been supporting a local charity by knitting hats and a blanket for people experiencing homelessness and hardship during the colder months.

The donations were given to the Four Streets Project, which works with vulnerable individuals in the local community.

The group recently heard how their support has made a difference and remains committed to helping local causes 🧢
