Chichester Centurion Community Speed Watch is now up and running. If anyone wishes to assist can you contact the coordinator Louise Pramas ([email protected]), or register for a profile on https://www.communityspeedwatch.org/ and complete the online training which is a pre-requisite for carrying out the speed watch. : Speeding has reached epidemic proportions and calls for a paradigm shift in the way we tackle it. That shift must include a change in the perception and management of community volunteers involvement with road safety. https://web2.communityspeedwatch.org/FRONT-v2-The_Scheme.php...

Our 50th Food Pantry will run this Wednesday 11th January from 15.00 to 16.00 at the Scout Hut on Sherborne Road. The food provided would otherwise be thrown away or go to landfill and helps us rescue food and deal with food waste. UK Harvest provides the food and volunteers to run the Pantry. Parklands Residents' Association pays for the hall hire, drinks, cakes and snacks and provides half-a-dozen+ volunteers to each Pantry. It's a social space as well as about food. We get food from local growers and food manufacturers. For example in recent weeks we had loads of fresh raspberries, juices and mozzarella. Every week is different and we usually have a selection of fresh fruit and veg, cupboard staples, proteins (fish, meet or veggie) and chilled goods. There is a voluntary donation of £3.50 but that's suggested and not required. The most important thing is to not waste food and that people get what they need. I am sure you'll enjoy visiting and we look forward to seeing you there.
