A special opportunity to see the coins in real life! 🪙

The Chew Valley Hoard comprises 2,584 silver coins dating from c.1066–1068, and depicts the reigns of King Harold II and William the Conqueror. Discovered in a field in the Chew Valley, the hoard represents one of the most significant finds from the Norman Conquest period in England.

And this Saturday, our Every Coin Tells a Story Celebration day provides the first opportunity to see coins from the Chew Valley Hoard in the South West, close to where they were buried nearly a thousand years ago!

And if you’d like to learn more, join Amal Khreisheh (Senior Curator at South West Heritage Trust) at 11.45am, in exploring the discovery, its significance, and the future of the hoard, followed by an audience Q&A.

See you there!

Midsummer Magic starts next week at Yeo Valley's stunning Organic Garden – five great performances nestled within a stunning horticultural feast for the senses.

Don't forget to take the time to explore and soak up the scenery before the performance begins. But which show has caught your attention?

Perhaps it's Gilbert and Sullivan's beloved comic opera, The Pirates of Penzance.
Or could it be the new take on Macbeth, or Finders Keepers -the community production of the year, perhaps it's swashbuckle-fest Treasure Island or As You Like It - exploring love in all its guises.
