Creativity in chesterfield

At Chesterfield Library we are having a celebration of lace making past present and future, highlighting its role in contemporary craft. The display at Chesterfield Library will run from Saturday 18th April until the 2nd of May. The display will feature a new lace artwork created by Designer Maker Clare Gage. Curated by Chesterfield Museum this display will tell the story of lacemaking in Chesterfield with examples from the Museum Archive alongside work from local contemporary lace makers.

Voice your thoughts on the oldest part of Chesterfield, home to many of our wonderful independent businesses including Adorn Jewellers Chesterfield, K & A hair design Nails by Meg and Ye Royal Oak

💬 We're currently working with consultants to look at how we can improve The Shambles and make it a more attractive space for visitors and businesses - our project team are going to be on Chesterfield Market on Friday 5 September from 10am to 4pm so you can share your thoughts on emerging ideas for this area of our town.

The project includes looking at things like lighting, street furniture and activation that will help support local businesses and encourage more people to visit and invest in The Shambles.

We haven't got funding allocated for this project yet but your input into the plan could help us secure external funding more easily.
