❤️ THANK YOU POST! ❤️

As a charity, we rely on the kindness of local businesses, and thanks to the incredible support of Wetton Funeral Directors, our Cosy Crafts sessions have a welcoming place to call home.

These fortnightly sessions bring people together to share creativity, conversation, and connection, helping to combat loneliness, isolation, and the impact of the cost-of-living crisis. Thanks to Wetton's, who provide a space for our workshops, free of charge, Cosy Crafts can continue all the way through to December 2026 ✨

Teela Bednall, Funeral Director at Wetton said: “We at Wetton's Funeral Directors are delighted to welcome Cosy Crafts into our Brimington Funeral Home. Creating a space where people can come together, share companionship, and enjoy meaningful activities is something we value deeply. It’s a pleasure to support a group that brings comfort, creativity, and connection to our community.”

Thank you so much Wetton Funeral Service 🫶

If you're a local business and would like to help support free arts activities in the community, we’d love to hear from you [email protected]

Big news for Chesterfield Children’s Festival! 🎪

We’re very excited to announce our NEW event sponsor, Kip McGrath Education Centre Chesterfield - who is helping us bring an even bigger and more creative festival to Queen’s Park this year 🎉

Thanks to their support, we’re introducing a brand-new craft tent packed with hands-on activities — from printmaking and pottery to designing your own football shirt! ⚽🎨

💛 As a charity, Junction Arts is dedicated to making the arts accessible to everyone. That’s why all our events are completely FREE, so families can enjoy creativity, performances, and experiences together without barriers.

🙌 None of this would be possible without the support of local businesses like the fabulous Kip McGrath Chesterfield West!

We’re delighted to welcome not one, not two, but three fantastic new trustees to the Junction Arts board 🎉

We feel incredibly fortunate to have these inspiring women join us at such an exciting time, as we look ahead to ambitious plans for the future:

✨ Tyler Turner – a talented artist, poet and facilitator, with expertise in community engagement and youth participation
✨ Bekah Anstey – a charity and fundraising professional, dedicated to championing community and creativity
✨ Emma Knight-Strong – a sustainability and governance expert, passionate about the role creativity plays in bringing people together

Junction Arts is supported by a dedicated board of eight trustees, each generously giving their time and expertise to help our charity thrive. We are hugely grateful for their commitment.

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to those trustees who stepped down this year, Joby Parsons, Jack Wood and Lucie Maycock. Your contribution has been invaluable, and you will be greatly missed.

Being a trustee is a rewarding voluntary role. It offers the opportunity to shape local projects, make a real difference in the community, and, at Junction Arts, be part of a creative, supportive team.

If you’re interested in joining our board, we’d love to hear from you: [email protected]

🎉 Junction Arts is 50… and yes, we may have mentioned it a few times! 😉

Our 50 Stories for 50 Years journey is officially underway, and we’re delighted to be working with the brilliant Defeye Creative to capture it all in a special documentary film 🎬✨

From collecting amazing stories and exploring the archives, to hosting story sessions and collaborating with fantastic artists (more on that soon 👀), it’s been a busy and inspiring start.

And alongside all that, we’ve been keeping our usual programmes buzzing too!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who’s shared a story, joined an event, or supported us so far 🙌
