Our first festival of the summer is done, and what a lovely day it was! β€οΈπ΅π
We somehow ended up between a halo halo stall on one side and a lechon stall on the other.
Right smack in the middle. Not distracting at all! π
We didnβt manage storytime in the end because the festival was so busy and lively, but it was wonderful seeing families naturally gather around our stall throughout the day.
Children enjoyed the games, parents stopped for a chat, and so many people shared stories about food, family, and growing up Filipino.
Sungka was an absolute hit with the children and quite a few grown-ups too! It was lovely watching people discover it for the first time or reconnect with childhood memories.
Our Reading Together with Mango and Marmalade Stories giveaway was also a huge success. Thank you to all the amazing authors who contributed books and helped us encourage more families to read together.
A special thank you to Ms Michelle for inviting us to be part of the very first Filipino Barrio Fiesta in Chesterfield. Bringing the community together takes a lot of hard work, and weβre grateful to have been included.

And thank you to everyone who visited our stall, supported our books, played games, entered the giveaway, or simply stopped by for a chat while my toddler attempted to reorganise everything behind the scenes! π
Weβll see you next at Queens Park, Crewe on 25 July. Come and say hello!
