All our cadets will be parading at this event so please come down and support them.

🔴 Join us for Chesterfield’s annual Remembrance service and parade on Sunday 8 November – a chance to for our community to come together to honour the courage and sacrifice of all those who served.

The Service of Remembrance will take place at the Crooked Spire at 2.30pm, followed by a parade and wreath laying at the war memorial opposite Chesterfield Town Hall.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the day and support the parade.

Last night we welcomed Commander Keith Bingham who presented 2 awards 1 to our Chairperson Liz Thompson, a certificate for 6 years service and the other to our OIC Sgt David Wild his Cadet Forces Medal for 12 years service congratulations to you both

⚓️I was a CFAV, now I am…⚓️

“From Retail Manager and part-time Minibus Driver to Criminal Justice Intervention Caseworker” -

My daughter was an RM Cadet in Alpha Company. She is now joining the Navy (after surgery to correct a minor issue with her nose) - and for the moment is also a PPO helping out with Junior Cadets.

Thanks to her informing her Unit that I possess an HHGV licence, I became a CFAV with Alpha Company. 5 years on I am now a CFAV with the mighty X-Ray Company - and my experience has led me to working with my local police force, working with both adult and young offenders helping them to understand their offending and turn their lives around (make better choices and take responsibility, accountability and control).

Recently I had the absolute honour of attending Lympstone with our National Champion RM Drill team and I even spoke to The 1st Sea Lord and Commandant General Sir Gwyn Jenkins whilst on parade on the hallowed grounds of the CTCRM Parade Square. An experience I will never forget and one I never thought would happen in my life.

I would never have ended up doing my full time job without my time with the cadets. It enabled me to discover my own potential (even in my 40s!).

This is the power of the Cadet experience.
It literally changes lives - (and not just our own!).

Thank You for never doubting me (or my Daughter!) and Thank you for teaching me that you can acheive ANYTHING if your set your mind to it and never give up!’
