We started our walk today at Staveley Hall. It looks fantastic with the community Poppy Drop.
We walked along the canal, past the canal basin, over the new bridge with the canal restoration below. Fantastic work! Then back to Staveley Hall Coffee Shop. Lovely food in a beautiful setting. Weather good no rain!

Great meeting last night we played Boccia!

sorted us into 6 teams of 6, brought the equipment and run a competition. Alisha only need to get the ruler out once😃.
Team 3 won. Thank you Alisha we all enjoyed the game. What great fun.

Food and craft fair to raise funds for Ashgate Hospice. The hall will be packed full with 34 local artisan traders with the highest quality crafts, delicious food and drinks, a cuppa and cake. Raffle to win food hampers worth £100, £50 and £25, plus many other prizes, for just £1. Every penny raised will go to the Hospice, this is a family-run event and we'd love you to join us on the day.

Great walk yesterday 11 of us and 2 dogs. Walked over the hill at Creswell Crags to Holbeck visited the lovely St Winifred’s Church then off to the Dukeries Garden Centre for coffee in the greenhouse. Back to Creswell Crags via Welbeck Courtyard where there is a new “dog”. Great day out.

The picture from our meeting last night is Paul Newman, Derby County Community Trust, with our WI member Jenny Sykes.
After taking part in a WI course making a child’s dress out of a man’s shirt Jenny was inspired to make many more Little Dresses which Paul takes to children in Nakuru, Kenya, 150 to date!
Paul gave us an insight into the charity which uses the power of sport, particularly football, to improve lives through sport, physical activity, health and education, harnessing the power of Derby County Football Club. As well making a difference to people of all ages in this country volunteers support schools in Nakuru Kenya helping transform partner schools in impoverished communities, bringing opportunity, support and lasting impact. On Donation Day all children receive a complete school uniform, other gifts and Jenny’s Little Dresses. The PowerPoint behind shows the girls wearing Jenny's dresses.
Excellent talk, thank you Paul, the work of the charity is outstanding.
