Excellent day at the Wingerworth Xmas Craft Fayre last week. A good turnout and Wingerworth Shed Group had plenty to display from what we’ve been busy making over the months.

Wingerworth Men’s Shed Group at Smithybrook View Extra Care Housing, Clay Cross.
A great day for the group and various other stalls.
Many thanks to “Together Housing” for the invitation to participate in their tenth anniversary celebration day.
A good day chatting to residents and visitors, helped enormously by a sunny day in their lovely
courtyard.

Did you have respect for policemen when you were growing up?
Back when a bobby on the beat meant more than just keeping order — it meant trust, safety, and a quiet nod of discipline. You didn’t run from him, you stood up straighter. A word from him held weight, and his presence alone could settle a crowd. Different times, different values — but many still remember when respect was freely given and proudly upheld.

Did an interview recently with Radio Sheffield extolling the importance of the Wingerworth community activities, especially Wingerworth Men’s Shed Group, and the local craft group run for the village. Seems there’s a community award thing that Radio Sheffield are promoting.

Wingerworth Men’s Shed group is still busy doing all kinds of stuff; dependant on what the current members want to do, and is still picking up requests for community projects.
We currently meet, as mentioned, just off Hornbeam Drive, on the site graciously loaned to us by Wingerworth JSA, twice a week at the moment.
We have had a quiet spell over the Christmas period, but are up and “running “, ( as best we can, considering the state of our members 🤔🫣 ). We are always happy to see anyone interested in what we do, but as we are currently oversubscribed with the limited space we have, we cannot take on new members at present.
That may well change as membership ebbs and flows; we are looking to expand but are struggling a little unless larger premises can be found, so if anyone out there knows of something, please let us know.
We currently post on our own page, and on the Wingerworth Village page, ( thanks Jody Byard ), so keep an eye out for further updates.
