Yesterday, we partnered with the team to deliver the “Speak Up Challenge” for Year 8 students.

Through our hands-on activities, we helped students learn how to structure ideas, present clearly, and speak with confidence in front of an audience!

By the end of the day, every student delivered a 2 minute presentation to their peers on a topic of their choice - a fantastic achievement that showcased real confidence and growth.🎤👏

A huge well done to all the students who took part!

Last week we worked with Year 9 students at Hartford Church of England High School and Cheshire's The Grange, delivering a powerful session exploring real-life risks and building awareness around exploitation and unsafe situations.

Our "Risking It All" session helped students to:

• Understand what unsafe relationships and grooming can look like in everyday life
• Explore how criminal exploitation and county lines can begin
• Reflect on the impact of alcohol, drugs, and peer pressure
• Identify support networks available

💡 Through storytelling and guided discussion, students reflected on the risks presented leaving the session with a clearer understanding of how to seek help if something doesn’t feel right.

📱✨ Today, we had the opportunity to watch an impactful Snapchat performance that explored the intricacies of online activity and its effects on our lives. 🌐💡 It highlighted the importance of making informed choices to ensure our safety in the digital world. Let’s remember to stay aware and make positive decisions online! 🔒💪

Year 6 had a trip to Oak View Academy to watch a theatre group perform Snap Trap. A play about the dangers of being online. They listened intently and were able to identify all of the red flags.

The University celebrated success at its inaugural Careers and Employability Recognition Awards, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Chester.

Around 100 guests attended the special evening, which recognised the contribution of students, graduates, staff, employers and external supporters who play a vital role in the University’s employability community.

The awards celebrated achievement across a range of categories, including Intern of the Year, Internship Host of the Year, the University of Chester Volunteer Awards, Rising Star Award and Employability Champion. The evening also recognised those who help shape student success, confidence and career development beyond the classroom.

Building confidence and easing worries around the transition to secondary school was the focus of our session at the yesterday! 🏫🎒

Our interactive “Moving Up” performance supported Year 6 pupils to reflect on the changes ahead, talk through common concerns, and feel more prepared for starting secondary school! 💪
