Tarvin Community Centre Brings people together through a range of events/activities to suit all ages. Centre or parts thereof available for hire incl. screens and projectors. Small Room.

Heated/Hall/Kitchen/2 smaller rooms/Full facilities/Wi-Fi/Lounge + bar/Large stage/Sound/light system. Tarvin Community Centre is managed by a voluntary group of people, and relies heavily on fundraising to keep the building open. Events range from morning Zumba classes to toddler groups, theatre, Zumba, table tennis, monthly Family Film Night with children's and adult films, theatrical performanc

es, concerts and bingo. The centre is available for hire should you have a party or event you would like to host. The premises is fully licensed to sell alcohol, has a bar/lounge area and free Wi-Fi if needed. Main Hall - can host up to 190/200 theatre style. It includes a large, newly refurbished stage with sound system and professional lighting. A hearing loop, plenty of seating and has access to our kitchen for any catering requirements, and also the Wilkinson Lounge. Edna Rose Room - This room can take up to 60 people with access to the kitchen if required. Ideal for meetings with a built in projector and screen. This room is ideal for small groups or meetings seating up to around 12 people. The Wilkinson Lounge is a bar/lounge area with tables and comfy seating. It has its own entrance if necessary, and toilet. We welcome any ideas or assistance to keep our centre thriving for future generations. Thank you to everyone that joined us on Friday night for our “heatwave” Film Night.

Our monthly Film Night will now go on a temporary break over the summer and we look forward to welcoming you back in September. Thank you to everyone that joined us for our 2025/2026 season.

🧙‍♂️🪄 Chester Wizard School: The Divination Tent ✨

Date: Friday 5th June 2026
Doors & Bar Open: 5.30 pm
Run Time: 50 minutes (no interval)
Age: Families and children aged 6 - 12+
Tickets: £6 Children, £8 Adults. Available at Tarvin Post Office, online (see link in comments), or on the door (cash or card)

A gentle interactive experience for those who take an interest in the mysterious and ancient art of predicting the future. The divination tent encourages creative play between children and their grown-ups. A one-man show with storytelling, movement poetry, physical comedy and simple theatre magic created for families with children aged 6 - 12. � �When the hero of our story Hugo discovers the divination section at a local library, it sparks a deep fascination, and he quickly becomes skilled in palmistry, tarot cards and dream interpretation. Join Hugo and follow his journey“destined for greatness” and meet some of his mentors, including the peculiar professor Costello who introduces him to tea leaf reading and the studious professor Ryan Socks an expert in astrology.

The audience is invited to get hands on and actively influence the story. In a world where there is so much pressure on children to succeed, The Divination Tent is an opportunity to see the joy in creative play and discovery.
