Meet Louisa! 💛

Twelve-year-old Louisa, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, loves being outdoors and spending time with her friends, and thanks to support from Children Today, she now has a new buggy to help her enjoy more of the things she loves!

Louisa’s existing wheelchair – while meeting her postural needs – is not suitable for her family and carers due to their height and health issues. They were finding that days out were often cut short.

Louisa’s mum, Marilia, was concerned that she was becoming increasingly isolated, as they were struggling to meet up with friends and family outside the home for a longer period.

Her new buggy is much lighter to push and is height adjustable, which makes a massive difference for all the different people involved in Louisa's day-to-day care. Because it’s so much easier and more comfortable for her family to use, Louisa can now spend more time with friends, enjoy adventures and a little more independence with her carers and make precious memories with family her. 🙌

Because every child deserves the chance to explore, socialise and enjoy the world around them! 💛

Can't make it on Saturday? No problem! Following the launch event, Wheels for All Widnes will be running sessions every Saturday, 10am–1pm 🙌 So there will be plenty of opportunities for disabled people and people with additional needs to enjoy cycling in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment 🚴

We’re excited to announce that Wheels for All Widnes is officially reopening at Wade Deacon High School – and we’d love the local community to come along and celebrate with us at our official reopening event! 🎉
