We'd like to say a big THANK YOU to Chester FC for inviting us along on bank holiday Monday to help raise funds for Children Today💛

We raised an incredible £422.59 🙌 But we couldn't have done it without our wonderful volunteers. Thanks to all those who gave up some of their spare time to help out - you're all absolute superstars in our eyes 🌟🤩🌟

And of course, thank you to everyone who donated. Every penny raised will help us provide vital mobility equipment for disabled children and young adults, giving them more opportunities to be included, provide more freedom and independence and help build confidence 💪

We were delighted to welcome visitors from Province of Cheshire Freemasons into our office recently to present the team with a very generous donation of £5,250 💛

The donation comes at an important time as demand for specialist mobility equipment continues to grow. Emma Prescott, Charity Director at Children Today explains:

“On average disabled households need an extra £1,095 each month, just to have the same standard of living as non-disabled households. This, combined with inflation and increased cost of living, means many families simply can’t afford to buy vital equipment, despite knowing how lifechanging it will be for their child.

“Over the last 12 months the number of applications we’ve received from families who desperately need our support has more than doubled compared to last year, so we are extremely grateful to the Trustees and members of Cheshire Freemasons for helping us reach more families. Their support will help us give disabled children greater freedom, independence and opportunities to enjoy life alongside their families.”

We're incredibly grateful for this fantastic donation, which will help us to support more children and families across Cheshire who desperately need vital mobility equipment 🥰

Phoebe's walker has helped her build strength and stamina, while her trike provides "physio in disguise" 😍

Her mum Keighley says: “There are so many things Phoebe can’t do and might never be able to. So being able to say ‘yes’ to something as simple as a bike ride is amazing. Phoebe’s trike is more than just a toy. It’s building her strength, her confidence, and her sense of joy. It’s giving her a chance to make memories alongside her sister. It’s giving us moments we never imagined we’d have."

Ready to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush while making a real difference in children’s lives? Become a Children Today Champion and take to the skies with an unforgettable tandem skydive! 🪂

Join us on Sunday 20th September for a fun, family-friendly charity walk around one of Chester's most scenic routes!

📍 Starting & finishing at Chester Racecourse

The walk follows a picturesque route via Grosvenor Bridge, Duke's Drive, Eccleston Village and The Meadows, before returning to Chester Racecourse with refreshment pitstops including:

Meet Nicole 💛

For 20-year-old Nicole, receiving the right manual wheelchair has been life-changing.

Born three months premature, Nicole has spastic dystonic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, which affects her head, trunk and all four limbs. Her new wheelchair, with supportive seating, has given her something incredibly important: greater independence, freedom and the opportunity to be included.

Before receiving her new chair, Nicole struggled to visit family and friends whose homes had steps. Now she can enjoy meals out with friends, visit relatives, take part in activities and even return to Cornwall – one of her favourite places 💛

The wheelchair has also opened up new career opportunities, allowing Nicole to consider working as a television extra again – something that had previously become impossible when her old wheelchair was no longer suitable 🌟

And Nicole is a talented artist. Inspired by her Cornwall trip, she created ‘Coastal Whispers’, spending around 50 hours creating the beautiful artwork to help raise funds for other young people like her 👩‍🎨🎨🖼️
