🌟 New Members Welcome at PHAB Chester

Looking for a friendly, relaxed place to meet new people, try activities, and enjoy good company each month?
PHAB Chester is open to everyone, all ages, all backgrounds, with or without disabilities.

Our aim is simple: bringing people together in a warm, social space.
We meet at The Owl Restaurant & Pub, Chester, on the second Monday of every month.
There’s no subscription and no commitment.
Just £2 pay‑as‑you‑go each session.

Alongside our monthly meet‑ups, we also offer yearly activities such as:
• Flying experiences
• Skiing trips
• Driving experiences
• Theatre trips
• And other confidence‑building adventures

If you’d like to join us or want to know more, send us a message or come along next month. You’ll be met with a warm hello and plenty of friendly faces.

I cannot believe, I am a 2025 Finalist! at the Crème de la Crème Cheshire Business Awards In association with Prism Studios, not once but twice.
The awards will be held on Friday 7th November 2025 - Devere Cranage Hall Estate, Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
Apparently, as a 2025 Finalist! I have to Shout About It & Rally Votes! and basically let the world know!

I am also proud to say I was presented with The Order of the British Empire Medal in 2016.
The award was in recognition for my services to Chester Adult Phab Club over 27 years and was granted to me in the Birthday 2016 Honours List.
Phab National is an amazing charity enriching and transforming many lives.
Recipients are entitled to use the post-nominal letters ‘BEM’.
The honours system recognises people who have:
o made achievements in public life
o committed themselves to serving and helping Britain
They usually have made life better for other people or be outstanding at what they do.

In 2012 Chester Adult Phab was also presented with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service The MBE for volunteer groups.
I am the founder member of Chester Adult Phab Club in the late 1980’s. I have also worked tirelessly in the community since my early 20’s.
For most people who know me I have lived experience of disability since early childhood and like to quote “disability is no barrier to leading a successful and fulfilling life”.

Chester Adult Phab Club is a social inclusive club founded in the late 1980’s. We are volunteer led organisation and well known within the local community;
The impact Chester Adult Phab has made to the local community include:-
• Promotion and success of social inclusion formed over 37 years;
• Friendships/lifelong relationships amongst people who previously experienced social isolation / loneliness;
• Members have experienced many unique social activities and achieved lifelong opportunities / dreams;
• Social interaction – enhancing confidence and self-esteem;
• Independent living, marriage and meeting lifelong partners;
• Local companies have gained additional custom from members using transport / venues;
Reduced social isolation amongst disadvantaged individuals and minority groups;
Chester Adult Phab continues to provide a valuable service within the local community transforming and enriching many lives of people with and without disabilities.
Finally, we are affiliated to Phab National. Phab has been working to build an inclusive world for over 65 years, supporting a national network of Phab Clubs and running Phab Adventures, bringing together disabled and non-disabled people of all ages in a spirit of togetherness, fun and creating spaces and places where everyone belongs, everyone’s involved because Inclusion Is Phab.
