Big thanks to the wonderful, locally based, Diane who led April's Walk & Talk for Men with a wild forage around Hoole.

Interesting, informative and inspiring! Didn't know nettles could taste so nice. Answered loads of questions and challenged some myths.

Today we mark 💙

Hoole Community Centre are so proud to celebrate the diversity that makes our space what it is. Our neuro-divergent volunteers are a hugely valued part of our team who help shape our culture every single day.

We aim to create an inclusive, welcoming environment and that means listening, learning and making space for everyone to feel valued and supported.

To our autistic volunteers and community members: thank you for everything you bring to Hoole Community Centre.

🎤Our second monthly open mic was another great success! Perhaps not quite as busy as the first but the quality was just as good.

☕The audience is quiet and respectful (but do enjoy a sing-a-long, especially to Johnny Cash!), the coffee is freshly ground and the food is delicious!

📆Our open mic takes place on the last Sunday of every month. April's will be on the 26th and sign-up opens at 11.30 and the music starts at 12. Performers and listeners equally welcome!

💚HOOLE GREEN FESTIVAL 2026💚

What an amazing Saturday we had! 💚🌿

It was so lovely to see so many of you there, getting stuck in, having a chat and soaking up all the good eco vibes. The incredible surplus-food treats (that focaccia thing 😍), the inspiring talks, making bird feeders in the library, bargain pre-loved clothing finds, bike fixes, upcycled clothing and recycling advice to name a few… it really was something special.

Now, just because the festival’s over, it doesn’t mean it stops there 👀

✅ The Hoole Green Hub is here to stay! It's in our car park and you can access it 24 hours a day. You can pop in to refill your laundry, cosmetic and cleaning products and even hire reusable cups and party packs for your event. Head over to the Eco-Communities website to see what they have on offer.

✅Eco-Communities have also left a big stack their brand new Hoole Green Maps which details the businesses in Hoole who are independent, using local produce or helping to reduce waste. Pop in and grab your copy!

💚Thanks so much to Helen and Emily from Eco Communities for being co-organisers of this event and thank you also to you all, whether you came along, helped out, or just cheered us on. It was a really brilliant day 💚

From the opening bars of "The Lady In Greggs" to the last jump of "Jump Ararnd" the boys from Barnsley The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican were brilliant last night at the centre. We can still hear the cries of "Alan , Alan, Alan, Alan ......"

Big thanks to them and the enthuastic audience, fashionably attired in some excellent tank tops. All entered into the spirit of a wonderful entertaining night.

Thanks to our bar team Tony & Louise.

We look forward to welcoming the hard working boys from barnsley back in the future to rock our world.

💚Next up at our Hoole Green Festival💚

Join us on the 28th March to celebrate and connect with all things eco friendly in your community.

Diane will be offering a FREE spring wild food taster walk at 12.30.

Join us whilst we delve into the world of wild edible plants!

Foraging for food has been a part of history for as long as humans have been around, and although the art of foraging has mostly disappeared in the modern world, it is a invaluable resource to better understand our past, present and future.

Learn the basics of plant identification, tips & best practices and of course different ways to use and eat wild plants.
