💜 DEMENTIA AWARENESS TALK – FREE COMMUNITY EVENT 💜

📅 Thursday 1st October
🕑 2:00pm
📍 Vicars Cross Community Centre

Dementia can touch all of our lives — at home, at work and in our community.

You may have a family member, friend or neighbour living with dementia. You might work or volunteer in a role where you meet and support members of the public. Or perhaps you’d simply like to feel more confident understanding and responding to someone who may be living with dementia.

Whatever your reason, this session is for you.

We’re delighted to welcome Home Instead, supported by medical students, for a friendly and informative Dementia Awareness Talk.

The session will help us better understand dementia, recognise some of the signs and learn practical ways we can communicate with and support people living with it.

It could be particularly useful for local businesses, community groups, volunteers, activity leaders and anyone working in a public-facing or community role who would like to become more dementia aware.

💬 There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, as well as the chance to speak privately afterwards if there’s something you’d rather discuss one-to-one.

☕🍰 Drinks, biscuits and cake will be provided , so come along, have a cuppa and learn something that could make a real difference to someone in our community.

💜 FREE to attend and everyone is welcome.

We do ask you to register in advance to help us plan numbers (and make sure there’s enough cake!).

📩 To register your place, contact Vicars Cross Community Centre:
📞 07861041795 (leave a message)
📧 [email protected]

Please share — particularly with anyone working or volunteering within our local community who may benefit from becoming more dementia aware.

🎟 Tickets £8.00
And, as always, that includes a light buffet AND a drink!

We’ve kept our small price increase to just 50p, despite rising food costs, because we want Community Cinema to remain an affordable afternoon out — a film, food, a drink and good company for just £8. 😊
