Squirrels and Beavers went to the Elton Food Bank this week at Elton Community Centre. We found out how a food bank operated and what amazing volunteers do to help families in nedd in our community and beyond. Thankyou Pauline Oreilly for your time and the amazing work you do with the food bank

Last Wednesday our Scouts headed to Safety Central in Lymm to take on the Escape to Safety 🚨🔥 challenge!

From fire and road safety to water rescue and spotting hazards at home, the Scouts had to work together, solve problems and think fast to make their way through the challenges. ⏱️

Plenty of teamwork, plenty of laughs… and just a little bit of competition! 😁

A huge thank you to the team at Safety Central for a brilliant evening! 👏

Squirrels had a lovely time learning how to dribble and keepy-up a football. 🏐They then went outside and watered 💦their sunflowers 🌻and used teamwork to pass water over their heads from one jug to another. They then tried to knock bottles off a bench with a water pistol 🔫, had a water fight and finished with an ice pop to cool down. ❄️

🎆 Want to see the Elton Fireworks return? 🎆

We’ve got a community meeting coming up this Monday to decide whether it’s actually possible - but it really depends on the level of support.

📅 Monday 22nd June
🕢 7:30pm
📍 Elton Community Centre

If you’d like to see it back, now’s the time to get involved, share your thoughts, or offer support.

Without enough interest and help, it simply won’t go ahead - so please do come along if you can.

🎆 Community Meeting – Elton Fireworks 🎆

Following recent discussions with the village Events Committee, we’re inviting the community to an open meeting to explore the future of the Elton Fireworks event.

📅 Monday 22nd June
🕢 7:30pm
📍 Elton Community Centre

This is a chance to:
• Get involved in helping shape and deliver the event
• Share ideas on how the event could go ahead
• Understand what would be required to make it viable
• Hear about the challenges and opportunities involved

Whether you’ve supported us in the past, or are simply interested in the future of events in the village, your input is welcome.

No decisions about the display have been made at this stage - this is about understanding whether there is enough community support to move forward.

Quite simply, without support, the event can’t happen - so if you’d like to see it return, we’d really encourage you to come along.

We hope to see you there.
