As 2024 comes to an end here is what 2024 looked like for like for us all here, what it’s taken, what we’ve achieved and where 2025 is taking us!
I’m Sara, one of the original line up that set this up and the only one still standing from that ambitious idea right back in lockdown!
The start of 2024 was trying, the main team no longer existed and I knew that this next 12 months would either make or break the vision of what Inspiring Futures was destined to be, a full on, wrap around supporting service of people who got it and wanted to make it better for other people, regardless of what they faced.
On the tiniest of teams I started 2024 determined to prove it could be done.
Firstly I want to say some big thank you’s for the first few months of 2024…
💜 Linda, started as a volunteer but it was clear she was made to do this, dedicated, willing and empathetic, her positivity and belief helped to get this over the line
💙 Rob, stepped in to so many situations in those first few months, couldn’t have done it without you.
💜 Mimi, fearless, young and just believed in her mum, again you kept that first few months of the year bearable.
So after riding that storm out what came next sealed the belief.
💥In April Marcus came over, full time, with only hope and trust to offer as security,
💥Then came Jack, owner of Fortitude gym and the link which gave us the base we so desperately needed.
💥In May over came Linda, full time with exactly the same promise as Marcus.
💥Bang we had 4 directors who had different skill sets but shared one common trait, we believed in what we were doing and that hard work would get it there.
☀️In June we opened up the alternative provision, a place for young people who for whatever reason weren’t in school.
📚In came Kelly, an experienced teacher who was able to work 1-2-1 with young people for their maths and English.
💰Bits of funding dropped in to us, CWVA, Tesco (thanks to everyone who dropped those little blue tokens in) The National Lottery, the local councillors, The police crime commissioner, Cheshire Community Foundation, Redrow, Anne Duchess of Westminster but we had to go out and get people to get us, and they did. We have worked with schools, children’s services, SEND team, education access, housing projects, other services and been helped by too many people to list.
📈 Graeme came over and started to look at how we grow and keep the core of what we are about at the heart of Inspiring Futures
🪢The last six months have seen us welcome Lauren to the team, experienced, hardworking and committed. It’s also seen us find Nathan, bringing a huge amount of personal and professional experience, proper salt of the earth guy, and finally being able to get Mimi on a permanent basis.
💙 Volunteers without you we couldn’t have done it.
⏰ The time we have all put into our project is hard to explain, it’s 7 day weeks, 12 hour plus days as a standard, very often more. It’s call outs in the night, phones constantly on, dividing yourself into a million pieces but somehow we have managed it.
❷⓿❷❺ ….
⭐️We have a new hub opening in the Lache in January.
⭐️We have new schools to work with.
⭐️We have more projects to run.
⭐️We have more families to reach.
⭐️We keep doing what we do and work with, and help, as many people as possible
💜We have worked with so many young people and families this last year, and we have loved it, we have no bigger plan than to continue what we do and help more people
🙏🏻 Thank you to everyone that’s been there for the ride, advised us, backed us and most importantly trusted us, here’s to a great 2024 and an even better 2025 🫶🏻
