🚣‍♂️ **Volunteer Kayak Coaches & Committee Members Needed – Chester** 🚣‍♀️

Our club has been part of the paddling community since 1984 I'm sure many Paddlers in the northwest over a certain age will have come across our club founder and president Ian McMullen over the years. We’re proud of the opportunities we’ve provided for young people over the years. Many of our past members have gone on to represent England and the UK in various styles.

Right now, we’re at a critical point: we’re struggling to accept new members due to a shortage of qualified coaches.

Before covid we were a thriving club but like life for many, afterwards things were different, we had the kids but most the coaches never came back, since then we have depended on a very small number of enthusiastic parents/guardians that thankfully became instructors and have kept it running since 2021. For the last year this has really limited our ability to get new paddlers on the water.

As a **Paddle UK affiliated club**, we’re committed to delivering safe, high-quality paddlesport opportunities—but we need your help to continue.

We’re urgently looking for:

**✔ Qualified Kayak Coaches** Sundays 9-12pm
If you hold relevant qualifications, your support could make an immediate impact—helping us reopen places for young paddlers and continue developing the next generation.

**✔ Committee Members**
Chairman
Secretary
Help keep the club running behind the scenes—supporting, organizing, planning, and the long-term future of the club.

**Why get involved?**
• Help keep opportunities open for young paddlers
• Be part of a long-established club with a strong community spirit
• Support and shape the future of junior paddlesport
• Work alongside a dedicated and friendly team

If you’re able to help—or know someone who might be—please get in touch via out website https://chesterriversidecanoeclub.co.uk/ or message us directly on facebook.

**Your time could make the difference between turning young people away or getting them out on the water.**

As the level on the Dee at Llangollen was just a bit too high today for all but the very brave😵, we made the most of the glorious weather and paddled over the stunning Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and along the Llangollen canal.

It may have been much colder today 🥶, but that didn't stop us.
Another great session, rolling, rescues and plenty of games.
Well done to everyone for braving the cold water and jumping in, even when they managed to stay dry on the river.
And special thank you Veolia for their generous donation.
