Local Plan - please see this petition!

Back in the Summer, we shared Cheshire West and Chester Council's draft New Local Plan. This identified Greenbelt areas in Upton that could be used for housing, which caused concern from some group members.

Seven Parish Councils nearby (but not Upton Parish Council) came together over similar concerns, and formed the 'Greenbelt Alliance.'

They have issued a petition asking Cheshire West and Chester Council to concentrate on house building near existing employment areas; to maximise new building on brownfield sites and to reject speculative, premature applications on the Greenbelt.

If you believe this is the right approach, please sign the petition by 30 November. With enough votes, the hope is to get this petition and viewpoint debated by Cheshire West and Chester Council or by one of its scrutiny committees.
