A HUGE thank you to Gaskells Waste Matters for their incredible support of our Soapbox Derby!
For the past two years, Gaskells has generously provided all of the event’s waste services completely free of charge, helping us keep the event clean, safe and running smoothly.

What a day. Thank you, Farndon! 👏

Yesterday, our village came together for our annual Soapbox Derby, and what a sight it was. Homemade karts, a bit of friendly chaos, and a whole community lining the course to cheer every single racer down the hill.

None of it would have happened without our volunteers. The people who arrived at dawn to set up, marshalled the course, poured the teas, and stayed behind to clear it all away. We genuinely can't thank you enough!

You gave your Sunday so hundreds of families could have theirs. 💙

To all of our sponsors, and especially our platinum supporters Palmers Scaffolding, Barnston Estate and Daulby Read Insurance Brokers, thank you for standing behind your community. Your backing didn't just fund a race. At a time when families are counting every pound, we were able to offer five hours of proper, no-cost fun for all ages. That matters, and it's down to you. 🌟

And it doesn't stop at the finish line. A day like this brings people into Farndon, filling our pubs, shops and cafés and putting real money back into the local businesses that make this village what it is.

Best of all, every effort yesterday goes toward the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and 11 other local charities doing vital work right on our doorstep.

EVENT DATE- 13th SEPTEMBER 2026

🏁 TWAS THE DAY BEFORE… SOAPBOX DERBY 2026! 🎉

Tonight, the High Street is calm… quiet… almost suspiciously peaceful. 👀

But enjoy it while you can… because tomorrow, all hell breaks loose! 😂🏎️💨

By 6am, the road will be closed, the hi-vis will be out, the muscles will be flexed 💪, and the transformation will begin!

Hay bales? ✅
Barriers? ✅
Bunting? 🎀
Tents? ⛺
Tea and coffee keeping everyone going? ABSOLUTELY! ☕😂

Piece by piece, our amazing community comes together to turn the High Street into one spectacular Soapbox Derby track.

Then come the vendors…
Then come the karts…
And before you know it, the place will be buzzing! 🎉

And the big question is…

WHAT will we see racing down the track this year?! 🤔

🦖 Dinosaurs?
🏎️ Crazy creations?
🚀 Something completely bonkers?
🎨 Karts galore?
🤪 And probably a few things nobody saw coming!

Then the crowds arrive, the racers line up, the nerves kick in…

…and you’ll hear it…
