This morning, on World Homeless Day, we were pleased to welcome Lord Mayor of Chester, Margaret Parker, to the Harold Tomlins Centre.

The Lord Mayor joined us during our morning Walk-in session, spending time with the team and gaining an insight into the day to day work of CATH and the support available to people experiencing homelessness across Chester.

World Homeless Day is an opportunity to raise awareness, but homelessness is not something that exists for just one day of the year. Our doors are open every weekday, and we’ll continue to work alongside people in our community to help them find the support they need.

Thank you to the Lord Mayor for taking the time to visit, listen and learn more about the work happening here at CATH.

A huge thank you to Bishop Heber High School for their remarkable Harvest Festival donation to Chester Aid to the Homeless. 🍂

We’re grateful to every student, family and member of staff who contributed. Our shelves are filled to the brim, and the wonderful decorations will brighten the day for everyone who visits the centre.

Thank you for coming together to support people facing homelessness in Chester.

🎉 Celebrating 25 years of the Harold Tomlins Centre 🎉

This year marks a very special milestone for us – 25 years of the Harold Tomlins Centre being a place of hope, support and community in the heart of Chester.

For a quarter of a century, the centre has welcomed people through its doors with a cuppa, a listening ear, practical support and, most importantly, somewhere they know they will be treated with dignity and kindness.

We’re incredibly proud of everything the Harold Tomlins Centre has represented over the last 25 years – and of every staff member, volunteer, supporter and member of our community who has been part of its story.

Here’s to 25 years of changing lives, and to everything still to come. 💙🧡

Happy 25th Birthday, Harold Tomlins Centre! 🎂

P.S. Obviously, no anniversary celebration would be complete without cake… 😏

Everyone welcome

🚨 URGENT FOOD APPEAL – WE NEED YOUR HELP 🚨

Our food supplies at Chester Aid to the Homeless (CATH) are running extremely low, and we urgently need donations to help us continue supporting people experiencing homelessness across Chester.

We’re particularly in need of:

🥫 Tinned meals, soups, beans & pasta
🍝 Pasta, rice & noodles
🥣 Cereals & porridge
🍪 Biscuits & snack bars
☕ Tea, coffee & sugar
🥛 Long-life milk
🍞 Other non-perishable, easy-to-prepare foods

Every donation – whether it’s a couple of tins or a full shopping bag – makes a genuine difference to the people who come through our doors.

If you’re a local business, supermarket, community group or simply someone having a cupboard clear-out, we would be incredibly grateful for your support.

📍 Donations can be dropped off at Chester Aid to the Homeless, Grosvenor Street, Chester.

Please share this post and help us get the word out. ❤️

Thank you, Chester. As always, your support means the world to us.

We want to take a moment to thank you for all your continued support! We truly couldn't do what we do without this wonderful community.

Quite a few of you have asked how you can further contribute. To make it easy we have updated our Amazon wish list with a few things we currently need.

Thank you all again ☺️
