LONDON-LANDS END CYCLE
This week, Alan (one of our Yorda Dads) and his friends Mark, Alex, Kevin and Tom are setting off - cycling from London to Land’s End over five days (11th–15th June) to raise funds for us.

Over the course of the ride, the team will cover an impressive 350–360 miles, passing through Surrey, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. With long days in the saddle and some of the toughest hills in the country - particularly in Devon and Cornwall - this will be no small feat.

The team visited the Playhouse last week to try on their t-shirts and have a cuppa, they’re definitely ready to go!

A quick note regarding our Friday after-school Family Play sessions. We have reduced the number of sessions running for the remainder of this term, so please check Bookwhen before planning to attend or booking a place.

This session has been added especially for Richmond and Kingston families who find it difficult to attend our weekday workshops. No booking needed – simply join us on the day.

💡 Ordinarily Available Provision & SEN Support

This online session is aimed at families without an EHCP and looks at the support that should be available for children and young people in everyday settings.
It will also include information for those receiving SEN support, including the extra help that should be in place when it’s needed.

This looks like a fun evening held by the brilliant Kingston Rotary in aid of two fabulous Kingston charities. Support if you can 👌

Are you a music lover? Join Rotary Club of Kingston upon Thames and Man&Boy for a Jukebox bingo night!

Jukebox Bingo is a music-based twist on traditional bingo where you mark off songs or artists on your bingo card as they are played.

Join us for a great night out on 3 July and help raise some funds for MAN&BOY. There will be food and drink, prizes and a raffle!

A huge thank you to the team from@Verlingue UK for spending their CSR Day with us as our Charity of the Year partners!
What a day it was - full of hard work, creativity, teamwork, and plenty of smiles (despite the weather trying its best at the end with rain!)
Tasks included -
- making concrete mushrooms for the children’s area - later transformed into colourful masterpieces with spray paint by some of our children
- building our brand new dinosaur sandpit
- extending the drainage system by the campfire area
- added concrete to parts of the playground to help make areas safer and more stable
- crafting beautiful pixie fairy furniture out of wood for imaginative play
Even though the day finished with a bit of a downpour, spirits never dropped and smiles were everywhere. We’re so grateful for the energy, enthusiasm, and care the Verlingue team brought with them.

Plus special thanks to Gayle and Sarah for their help in coordinating the day and for collecting all the amazing toy and bottle donations, we appreciate you!

Huge congratulations to Rosemary for her extraordinary achievement in completing the London Marathon and raising an incredible £10,600 for Yorda Adventures!

Despite battling an injury, Rosemary showed unbelievable courage, determination, and spirit to cross that finish line in true style. Refusing to give up, she inspired everyone watching with her resilience and heart. Her family and friends and some of the Yorda team came out to support her and cheer her on and this definitely kept her spirits up!

And in a moment that perfectly captured the determination of the day, even the police were committed to helping Rosemary make it over the line - a testament to the incredible effort, strength, and support surrounding her achievement.

Raising over £10,000 while overcoming such challenges is nothing short of phenomenal. Rosemary, you are an absolute inspiration, and everyone at Yorda is immensely proud and grateful for everything you’ve achieved.

Can you help? We’re aware of a petition from parents at Linden Bridge School regarding the residential provision which supports children with autism and complex needs. If you would like to find out more or show your support, you can view the petition here:

For some families, residential provision can play an important role in helping young people develop independence, build relationships, and access education in a way that works for them. Recent reports have highlighted the positive impact of this kind of support, with students benefiting from a safe, nurturing environment and opportunities to grow socially and emotionally.

Some of the families we support may be affected by the proposed changes, so we wanted to share this for awareness.
