White Hill Centre The White Hill Centre hosts many classes, clubs and groups and community information events.

We have halls and rooms for hire, for celebrations, meetings and exhibitions. Provides facilities for recreation, leisure and education for Chesham and neighbouring areas. Our policy is to offer use of premises at very competitive rates with commitment to continue doing so as part of its service to the community. Is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO - CC Reg No.1168816)

ll School - an iconic Victorian School Building (C1890)
Managed by unpaid Trustees and Volunteers, supported by a small team of paid staff
Is independent and self-supporting, receiving no regular funding from local authority or government funds
Regularly used by over 60 groups, clubs and societies, as well as businesses and charities
Has a membership of nearly 500 people
In a typical week, over 1000 individuals use the facilities
Income is from room rentals, commercial rents, centre activities, membership fees and donations. For long-term survival of our Victorian Building we need to raise £50k pa over the next few years from sources other than our operating income. The Centre is a two-storey building with a lift to the first floor
Rooms are available for hire that will accommodate between 12 and 150 people with kitchen and bar facilities. There is disabled access throughout building and facilities for the hard of hearing
Provision of accommodation to locally based community organisations. Current groups include:
GCSE and a level revision groups
A dance school for ages range 3-18 years
Bowls for the visually impaired
Fitness training for a range of abilities including older people
Table tennis and badminton
Hobbies and crafts
Various vocal and instrumental groups

Chesham is taking part in World Walks against Dementia again this year! 💜

On Sunday 6th September, we’ll be coming together at Lowndes Park for a community walk to raise awareness and show our support for everyone affected by dementia.

We’re really pleased to be working in partnership this year with the Friends of Lowndes Park, who do such amazing work. Their passion and commitment to improving and caring for Lowndes Park is genuinely inspiring.

We know how important green spaces and nature are for everyone’s wellbeing, and especially for people living with dementia. We’re very lucky to have such a beautiful park and wonderful natural spaces right here in Chesham.

💜 We’d love for everyone to wear purple! 💜

Please meet us at Lowndes Park by 10.50am so we can start the walk together. After the walk, we’ll head to the Town Hall for tea and coffee, where there will also be information stalls and an opportunity to chat, connect and find out more about dementia and the support available.

It was so wonderful to see so many of you join us last year, whether yourself or a loved one has been affected or you want to just come along, everyone is welcome!

This is a great initiative by and for our lovely hard-working Chesham retailers!

Please show your support in keeping high streets alive and kicking!

The event runs on Saturday 22 August from 9.30am, with arts, crafts, sports, live music and retail trail.

Pick up your Chesham Passport from Vaessen Walker Jewellers, 4 Darsham Walk (the walkway beside Darvell's bakery) to explore the town. Collect 15 stamps and small treasures at each stop. 15 stamps = free prize!!

Another well attended Cake Coffee & Company gathering today at the Stage Door cafe at The Elgiva. Held on the last Thursday of each month for those looking for company. Free and no need to pre-book. Please help spread the word to your neighbours and those who may not be on social media. Lifts can be provided where appropriate.
