HOW IT WORKS - Bring a clean bag for life (the large polypropylene bags with fabric handles not the thin plastic ones) and we will exchan

ge it for a pre-bagged selection of food from the fridge. The Chesham Community Fridge project is run under the auspices of Kings Church Chesham in conjunction with the Hubbub Foundation. We are a non-profit charity project that redistributes surplus food to the general community that would otherwise become food waste. We aim to relieve pressures on household food budgets; provide a community area that fosters sharing and collaboration; reduce local business food waste; and raise public awareness around this food issue. A community fridge is a simple way of enabling people to share good food that would otherwise go to waste. The average UK family wastes £810 a year by throwing away food and drink which could have been consumed. 61% of the food wasted in the UK (4.1 million tonnes) is avoidable and could be eaten if creative ways of sharing it are found. And a community fridge is one such way! Registered Charity No. 291990
