Chertsey Regatta was established in 1851 and most recently has welcomed the Shepperton community becoming Chertsey and Shepperton Regatta. The Regatta is organised by representatives from a number of local Skiff clubs along the Thames, as there is no longer a club house at Chertsey. It takes place usually around the first weekend in August and is set up on the Shepperton bank of the Thames by volu

nteers. All races are sponsored by local companies and benefactors, many of whom come and enjoy the hospitality and relaxed atmosphere of the day by the river.
