WHAT A CHAPTER! 📕

The keys to Small World were officially handed over today! I just want to say thank you to everyone who came through our doors and brought the magic to life.

It’s been a real privilege sharing in your memory making and watching the space that I created being enjoyed. What a brilliant honour it was to spend my working days listening to children laugh and play all day (of course the sound of tiny, developing brains trying to regulate big emotions echoed around too, as it should❤️).

I’ve really loved meeting so many local families and seeing parents create new friendships as well as the children is something that’s made me most proud.

The new owner will offer fixed daily opening hours and catering, which I was unable to offer due to care commitments and a sudden change of circumstances. I hope you’ll support her and that you continue to enjoy the space with your wonderful children.

It’s been such an amazing experience and I’ll miss it very much!

Small World is SOLD!

I’ve been excitedly waiting to announce this news with a video in which I planned to introduce the new owner but super flu had other ideas and has stolen my voice!

So I’ve outlined the key details below 👇

Small World role play cafe will be under new ownership as of 17 January 2026.

The play cafe’s new name will be Lehane’s Little Lions 🦁

What’s new for 2026?

The new owner (Terri-Jayne) will be offering set opening hours each day - this is something I was unable to offer due to my care commitments.

Catering will be available to customers in the new year also 🍰

Terri-Jayne was selected based on her strong passion for early years development and inclusivity along with a keenness to continue my mission to help local parents feel connected and supported. With this, I am confident that all of our loyal customers and anyone new who comes through the doors in the future will be in the best hands.

I want to offer huge and sincere thanks from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has visited us since we opened on St Patrick’s Day 2025. It’s been the most interesting and heartwarming time getting to know all of you and I hope I’ll bump into you again in the future as I’ll be a regular customer at Lehane’s Little Lions.

It’ll be with the heaviest heart that I hand over the role play cafe that I built from nothing but it’ll mean the world to me to see the space I created continue to be used for the purpose I intended.

I will hopefully see some of you before I hand over the keys. All of my January sessions will be LESS THAN HALF PRICE as I want to encourage as many local parents as possible to get out and about to beat the January blues without having to spend much (I know how expensive Christmas is for parents)!

I also want to apologise to our regular customers in particular and anyone who had bookings for recent weeks’ sessions and have been disappointed by the cancellations. We scarcely cancel or change sessions and do everything we can to avoid disappointing children. However, I simply could not risk spreading super flu and ruining Christmas for our customers. It was a tough decision, I was very excited for Christmas week and never imagined I’d be spending it processing 74 refunds.

What a fab final session of 2025!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Christmas party. We hope you loved your gifts from Santa and are making good use of your party bag treats!
And a huge special thanks to Santa for taking the time out from his bus schedule to join us at our grotto.

Once again, we are very sorry that last week’s party had to be cancelled due to super flu.
