This week our Explorers got hands-on with fire lighting and outdoor cooking, putting their skills into action around the campfire! Equipped with teamwork, patience, and plenty of enthusiasm, the group worked together to build and manage fires before cooking up a well-earned feast. 🌭🔥

Evenings like this are what Explorers is all about – learning practical skills, building confidence, and enjoying time outdoors with friends. From lighting the fire to cooking over it, everyone played their part and smashed it.

A massive well done to everyone involved – you were brilliant! 👏

🧗‍♂️ Underground Adventures with Relentless ESU! 🕳️

This week our Explorers headed underground for an incredible caving adventure! Equipped with helmets, headtorches and plenty of determination, the team navigated narrow passages, underground streams and some seriously impressive rock formations.

Caving is all about teamwork, resilience and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone and our Explorers absolutely smashed it. From squeezing through tight crawls to exploring hidden chambers deep beneath the surface, everyone supported each other and took on the challenge with huge smiles.

These experiences are exactly what Explorers is all about: adventure, friendship and learning new skills in unique environments.

A massive well done to everyone who took part you were brilliant! Also a massive thank you to Gwent Scouts Land Activities👏

🎉 Goodbye 2025. Hello 2026. 🎉

What a year it’s been for Relentless Explorer Scout Unit.

In 2025 we’ve been busy doing what Explorers do best getting stuck in, trying new things, and having a laugh along the way. From outdoor adventures and skills nights to challenges, teamwork, camps, and social activities, our Explorers have built confidence, friendships, and memories that last far longer than the muddy kit ever does.

As we head into 2026, we’re opening the door to new young people aged 14–18 who want adventure, challenge, and a place to belong whether you’re brand new to Scouts or continuing your journey.
We’re also always keen to hear from adults and young leaders who want to get involved, support young people, and be part of something genuinely rewarding.

If you’re a parent looking for opportunities that build confidence and life skills, or a young person looking for something more than just another club 1 Relentless ESU might be for you.

This weekend, Scout groups across Wales will be taking part in local Remembrance Day events – laying wreaths, marching in parades, and honouring those who served.

We want to say a heartfelt diolch to every young person and volunteer who has given their time to sell poppies, support local services, and help their communities remember.

From Llanelli to Llandudno, you’ve shown what it means to live the values of Scouting – respect, unity, and service.

Today, members of Relentless ESU took part in the annual Remembrance Day Parade in Chepstow, joining the wider community in honouring those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We are proud to represent Scouting and to stand alongside others in an act of collective remembrance, reflecting on the courage, dedication, and resilience of all who have served.

We will remember them.

🌟 What a Month with Relentless Explorer Unit! 🌟

Over the past month, our Explorers have been busy and having a blast! 🎉 We’ve mastered the art of cupcake making 🧁, enjoyed cozy film nights 🎬, honed our first aid skills 🚑, and even got creative with bridge building 🌉! Plus, we’ve been navigating the great outdoors with some awesome nav work. 🧭

But that’s not all! We’re always on the lookout for new members to join the adventure. Whether you’re passionate about the outdoors, love hands-on activities, or just want to make new friends, we’d love to have you! We meet weekly, alternating between 1 sedbury and tidum scouts, and 1st Bulwark Scout Huts. 🏕️

And hey, we’re also looking for enthusiastic leaders to join our team. If you’re interested in guiding the next generation of Explorers, we’d love to hear from you!
