Why do you think the London boroughs aren’t applying for the grant?
Seems like a no-brainer to help both new and existing EV drivers access less expensive Charging Options 🤔
Especially considering as of mid‑2025, there are just over 200,000 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) registered in Greater London. This makes London the single largest concentration of EVs in the UK, accounting for roughly 12% of the UK’s total BEV fleet.

🗞️ Reported in the today.
⏰ Local authorities in England have until 30 October to apply for their allocation of £25m DFT funding to subsidise cross-pavement channels for their residents.
But some London boroughs don't plan to apply. We fully understand that councils must take all the time they need to consider maintenance & liability arrangements but the good news is there is no time limit to spend the funds.
Cross-pavement charging is proven to accelerate EV adoption as it makes running an EV 5 - 10 x cheaper than public charge points.
