Four of us on this morningโ€™s litter pick (not all pictured).
As well as clearing lots of litter from the streets, Cathal moved this large plank which was obstructing the pavement.

A very generous offer from The Coconut Tree TCT this Friday lunchtime to celebrate Vesak Dansal

Join us this Friday, 29th May from 12โ€“3pm as we mark Vesak โ€” one of the most sacred days in the Buddhist calendar. A time for reflection, kindness, and community.

To honour the spirit of the day, weโ€™re inviting you to enjoy a free Vesak plate โ€” a traditional plant-based meal, lovingly prepared and served with meaning.

Your plate will feature:

โœจ Dhal
โœจ Fat Sister Butternut Squash Curry
โœจ Rice
โœจ Coconut Sambol
โœจ Beetroot
โœจ Poppadom

No need to book โ€” just walk in, take a seat, and enjoy a taste of Sri Lanka. Itโ€™s our way of sharing this beautiful celebration with you.

Did you know? Lanterns are a key part of Vesak traditions. They symbolise the light of the Buddha, his teachings (Dharma), and the Buddhist community (Sangha). They also represent hope, enlightenment, and peace.
