We were recently given £300 of Jackson's vouchers by the Gloucester Arts and Crafts Group!

Leo's uncle is a member of the committee of the Gloucester Arts and Crafts Group, (Leo is one of our dedicated volunteers here at Art For All Mental Health) and the vouchers are an invaluable contribution to our materials budget.

Thank you to the Gloucester Arts and Crafts Group!

Hi, I'm Toby! 👋

Art For All Mental Health (AFAMH) is my safe space where I can truly be myself. It’s also a really good place for me to meet creatives and people working in the mental health field creating a long term network and community to aid in my recovery.

I make work based on the fossils and sea glass that I find while fossil hunting on beaches. I find the process of both fossil hunting, and then using these found objects to inspire my creative practice, meditative and healing. AFAMH provides a space where I can process my findings every week in a focussed and supportive environment.

Are you a doodler? Evidence shows that doodling can calm the nervous system and be an antidote to unhelpful thoughts or anxiety. In our Friday afternoon craft session, we got talking about how drawing and even just doodling with no agenda, can help us manage our mental health. Doodling encourages us to approach making with a less outcome-driven outlook, and can help us to process our thoughts and feelings in a liberating way. The participants, volunteers and staff all got involved… here’s some of our doodles! 🖋

We support on average 60 people per week who have a moderate to severe mental health condition.

An AFAMH participant said: “As a voice-hearer, they quieten when I am drawing. By knowing I have a dedicated space each week for this to happen reduces my anxiety. I have a sense of achievement which means everything to me.”

Every week we see evidence of the benefits that being creative over a longer period of time can have on a person's ability to manage their mental health condition.

Know someone who might benefit from our sessions? Send them our way! 👋

Art For All Mental Health has been a charity for one year today! 🎉

From our very first dreams of becoming a registered charity, we've been privileged to support people through the healing power of art, build meaningful community connections, and watch our mission grow beyond what we had imagined.

None of this would have been possible without the amazing people who have supported us along the way. 💙

A huge thank you to:
👏 Our volunteers who generously give their time
👏 Our funders and supporters, including the National Lottery
👏 Everyone who has attended our sessions, exhibitions and events
👏 Every single person who has shared, donated, encouraged or believed in our vision

Have a look through the carousel to see our journey to becoming a registered charity...👣
