Meet Dave Cant, our inspiring 82-year-old volunteer, who is set to become the oldest charity runner at this year's Run Cheltenham 10K! šāāļø
Joining him will be two generations of his family, including his daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren, making it a truly special team effort š
Dave has supported Sue Ryder for 17 years, volunteering at many of our flagship events, and generously donating a 16-foot Nordmann fir tree to our hospice each Christmas, decorated with 1,200 lights in Sue Ryder's colours.
Having previously completed a 'Run Your Age' challenge during the pandemic, Dave is now excited as he trains for the big day, aiming to raise vital funds for Sue Ryder. "My biggest motivation will be running with my family and my commitment to fundraising for Sue Ryder," he said.
To date, Dave has raised over £2,000 with support from friends and family, and with match funding from his daughter's workplace. He encourages people to join him on the start line, saying, "If you enjoy pounding the pavements, then Run Cheltenham is something you should do. I have volunteered for Sue Ryder at the event, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the Sue Ryder team gives you lots of support."
Thank you so much for everything you do for us, Dave š
