What a wonderful day to GET ON YOUR BIKE and ride to Bishops Cleeve! Smashing pic (thanks Nicky) of the Cheltenham Town Wheelers and Cheltenham & County Cycle Club gathering before setting off to Cleeve in the new cycle path. Really good to see so many youngsters getting on their bikes! Well done all those who help and encourage them.

ON YOUR BIKE! SUNDAY 14th JUNE 2026

Christening the New Cheltenham to Bishops Cleeve Cycle Path

Join 1000+ riders of all ages and abilities to celebrate our brand-new cycle spine! Whether you're the youngest, the oldest, or the best dressed - be there!

There will be lots of riders passing through from 11am 'til 2pm. The route starts on Tommy Taylors Lane, (where you can watch Cheltenham Town Wheelers on their off-road course) along the path towards the lake before turning right on the new gravel path, past the Basketball pitch, across the back of the Playing Fields and along Wellesley Rd.

Most riders will head straight up the cycle path towards the racecourse and on to the Tithe Barn in Bishops Cleeve but some might stop for coffee and cakes at Central Cross on the way!

The Charity Bike Shop (Cyclists Fighting Cancer) will have a free basic maintenance stand if anybody wants to get minor repairs carried out.

There's a wide programme of events at the Bishops Cleeve Street Fair from 12-4pm, so GET ON YOUR BIKE and give the new cyclepath a go!

Some of our lovely volunteers out and about in Pittville Park on a rather damp Thursday. We were helped by a team from Howden insurance (under the Employer Supported Volunteering scheme) - always very grateful for extra muscle power! Thank you for joining us!

PIttville Swans & Friends were called out yesterday morning to Maisie in distress. When they arrived they could see a triple hook embedded in her neck linked to a triple hook in her wing. Carol & Chris carefully bagged Maisie while Simone distracted George. Maisie was taken straight to Vale Wildlife Hospital where they were able to successfully remove both hooks. Sadly on closer inspection the hook in Maisie's wing has caused damage and she will need an operation.

It will be at least 48 hours before there is an update - PLEASE DO NOT CALL THEM. Follow Pittville Swans & Friends on Facebook for regular updates.

Keeping everything crossed for a full recovery for Maisie. In the meantime, George is doing a great job looking after the 6 cygnets.
