Linc Charity Registered Charity No. 1078183 We provide help at the sharp end of diagnosis and during the initial intensive treatment. This is by no means all we do.

By providing financial support we can help alleviate some of the worries We fund a clinical psychologist providing psychological support which is essential for many families and relationships to cope better and remain strong throughout the illness. We provide equipment for the wards, new machines for diagnosis and treatment; make the patients' stay more comfortable by finding televisions and DVD p

layers and furnishings for the day room. In 2003 we funded the new LINC out patient department and Cheltenham General and in 2055 we funded a post graduate blood cancer research fellow. Our next project is to redesign, modernise and rebuild the Edward Jenner Unit at Gloucester Royal Hospital and provide all the fixtures and fittings. Every donation counts and is much appreciated.

No matter where you live in Gloucestershire, accessing life-saving care should be straightforward 🚗 🗺️

For our sixth strategic objective, we are focusing on Enhancing Regional Accessibility. With 237 new diagnoses each year and over 18,000 haematology appointments happening across our county, travel has become a critical barrier for many patients-especially those in more remote areas.

As part of our strategy, we are actively researching these hurdles with the goal of launching a dedicated patient transport service. We are also looking into developing localised support hubs so that help is never too far away. 🏥 💙

For our fifth strategic objective, we are working with the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to improve Linc Outpatients and the Edward Jenner Unit. 🏥

We are putting patient and clinician voices at the heart of these designs. At our recent focus groups, 73% of people rated an enhanced Linc staff presence in the hospital for advice and signposting as important or extremely important. 🧭 ✨

With over 18,000 annual haematology appointments across the county, this feedback will help us turn busy clinical areas into welcoming spaces that promote comfort and dignity. 🛋️ 💙

We aren’t complete without our volunteers!⭐️

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting a Volunteer Thank You Event at in Cheltenham to celebrate the incredible people who make our work possible.

And what better way to say thank you than bringing together the whole Linc volunteer community… with cake from of course! 🍰

The afternoon was all about recognising our volunteers and the amazing impact they’ve made. We shared some exciting statistics, including the incredible total of 4,227 volunteer hours contributed last year.

To put that into perspective, if we employed someone full-time to cover those hours, it would cost £53,713.13…

Whether you give your time through fundraising, events, admin support, helping in our shops, tending to our Sanctuary Garden, Corporate Volunteering or any of the many other ways you help, every hour makes a difference.

To all our volunteers: thank you. Your dedication, kindness, and generosity help us do what we do every day. We simply couldn’t do it without you. 💙✨

📣WE’RE HIRING: Specialist Haematology Counsellor

At Linc Charity, we are launching a brand-new Counselling Service to support local blood cancer patients and their families across Gloucestershire. We need an empathetic, qualified Counsellor to help shape and lead this vital 6-month pilot.

If you want to use your clinical expertise to make a profound local impact, we want to hear from you.

The Details:
🕣 Hours: 15 hours/week (split between 2 counsellors, flexible around patient needs).
💷 Pay: £60/hr (face-to-face) | £20/hr (meetings).
📍Location: Gloucester office + remote/online flexibility.
🗒️ Contract: 6-month pilot (with the aim to extend).

📋 Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Counselling/Psychotherapy + BACP/UKCP/HCPC accreditation.
- Experience supporting individuals with health conditions (ideally oncology/haematology).
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex caseload.
