Cleeve Common is one of the largest areas of unimproved limestone grassland in the UK. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its habitats, geology and archaeology. Every year, tens of thousands of people enjoy visiting the Common to walk, run, bike, ride a horse, play golf, toboggan - or just enjoy the breathtaking views. ⚠️ Gate damaged at the Golf Club

Apologies to anyone using the gate by the Golf Club, which has been damaged. We're working to get it repaired as soon as possible.

If you're unable to cross the cattle grid on foot, please use the footway through the Golf Club garden as an alternative route.

Thank you for your patience while we get this fixed.

Update: A temporary fix has now been made to the gate, so the wooden gate is usable again. Thanks for your patience while we work on a more permanent repair.

Sheep remain free-ranging all over doing lots of shade bathing in the hot weather so not always easy to spot.

Last week we had a lovely Family Fun Friday getting creative with collages, kites, communal art and clay.

Cleeve Common is incredibly dry at the moment, so please take note. Thank you

🔥 One small spark can start a wildfire.

With dry conditions across Gloucestershire, it's important that we all take extra care when enjoying the outdoors.

Here's how you can help prevent wildfires:
✅ Fully extinguish ci******es and never throw them from car windows
✅ Avoid lighting open fires in the countryside
✅ Take glass bottles home with you
✅ Only use barbecues in designated safe areas and never leave them unattended

Let's protect our countryside, wildlife and communities this summer 🌿

What a fab day! Thanks to everyone who joined us, it was so wonderful to meet you all
