🏠 Today is

Homelessness can happen for many reasons, and it doesn't always look the way we expect. Behind every person experiencing homelessness is an individual with their own story, circumstances, strengths and hopes for the future.

Over the coming week we're continuing the conversation, exploring the realities of homelessness, the support people need and the difference this can make.

In 2025/26, we have provided over 100,000 safe nights to those in need to shelter across Cheltenham and Gloucester, supporting more than 80% of residents to move on positively into independent living through PATHWAY HOME.

Mental health is part of all of our lives. Whether it impacts you personally or someone you love, it can affect how we feel, how we cope with everyday challenges, how we connect with others and how we approach the things that matter to us.

For the people we support, having the right foundations in place can make a real difference, whether that’s feeling more confident, building relationships, finding employment, continuing education or simply feeling more able to face the day ahead.

🏃‍♂️ 🇩🇪 This weekend, Dan Pointing epic three marathon challenge comes to an end!

He is heading to Munich to take on another 42.2km, this time running through the streets of one of Germany’s most popular cities in support of YMCA Cheltenham.

The Marathon München by Brooks will see runners take in some of Munich’s most beautiful places, from Marienplatz and Odeonsplatz to the Siegestor and English Garden, before heading towards the Olympiapark München and its iconic finish line.

After months of training and two marathons already under his belt, every kilometre he runs is helping raise vital funds for YMCA Cheltenham and the people and communities we support across Gloucestershire. So far, he has raised an amazing £1,683!

We're all behind you, Dan! 👏 Wishing you the very best of luck for this weekend.

YMCA Cheltenham is marking an incredible 170 years of supporting the local community in Gloucestershire.

To celebrate we are seeking sponsors, whether that be individuals, businesses or organisations, to be part of something truly life-changing.

For less than your monthly coffee bill, you can support someone in the local area who is at risk of homelessness, be it a family, young person or adult; not just to survive, but thrive. 🌟

“This place has really inspired me in a way to be a better man.”

After growing up in foster care and experiencing significant loss and challenges throughout his life, Chris came to YMCA Cheltenham looking for support.

He has found a sense of stability and encouragement with people around him who listen, support him and help him truly belong, contribute and thrive.

Chris speaks particularly warmly about Derry Cleaton, our Senior Housing Manager, and the difference her support has made to him. For Chris, having someone in his corner has helped him see things differently and look ahead with a renewed sense of hope.

His story is a reminder of the impact YMCA Cheltenham has on people in the Gloucestershire community, helping individuals build strong foundations for a rewarding life

Founded on 23rd November 1855, YMCA Cheltenham emerged from a passionate commitment to initiate positive change. 💖

Our story began with a pivotal gathering at the Old Town Hall on Regent Street, an event so significant it inspired an 8,000‑word article in the Cheltenham Examiner.

Since that moment, we’ve grown alongside the town itself, becoming a vital part of Cheltenham’s history while also expanding our support and services across Gloucestershire.

For generations, we’ve evolved to meet the changing needs of our community - but our mission has never wavered:
