My name is Rosie -May Jessica I was born 09/10/2013 in Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield
My Daddy died 14/11/2013, he died suddenly and there were no warnings. I didn't get to meet my Sleeping Daddy and wished I did! My Daddy wanted a little girl and he wrote this for me:
'I may not be the best and may not be the biggest but today has made me stand tall and I feel so proud :) I have a baby gir

l on the way and the wait to find out seemed like a life time and now I have a life time to spend it with you and give you everything U would ever want, nothing could ever cm between a dad and his daughters bond and no matter what I will sure try my best :) so my little princess I am guna be ready and waiting for u to show urself into this world and a big thank u to Shelley as I will never know what it feels like to go through this but im here and no matter what u need me I will always be there, I'm 1 happy maan ;D'

To many, these are just photos of a child ready for Sports Day. But to me, they mean absolutely everything. 💙

Rosie has only ever attended three Sports Days. The first was in Reception, and it was completely overwhelming for her. Then came COVID. The second was in Year 3, and she hated every minute of it. After that, she refused to go, and during the last two years she was home educated.

This year, I felt so apprehensive. Rosie now absolutely loves her school and has even managed non-uniform days—something that would have been impossible for her before. I couldn’t help but wonder if Sports Day would mean another day off school or a difficult morning.

Instead, our morning was filled with singing, laughter and excitement. As we walked in, she told me she was actually looking forward to it. I can’t describe the relief I felt 🥰

I really do believe children will flourish if they are given the right environment. I am forever grateful that Rosie-May has found her place at school 💙

Rosie-May is casually tucking into her spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread while I play chauffeur. At this point, we’re one sharp corner away from wearing the Bolognese instead of eating it! 🙈😂🍝🚗💨
