The aim of our club is to promote the great team sport which is volleyball while having loads of fun at the same time. We are really happy to see that its popularity has been steadily growing over the recent years in the UK and we are here to help it grow even further. Where do we play? Indoors season:
We have one training session per week, it takes place at the Cheltenham Bournside School (Warden

Hill Road, Cheltenham, GL51 3EF) on Wednesdays at 8.15 p.m., until 10:15 p.m. Summertime:
Pitville Park (GL52 2AE) on Wednesdays from 6:30pm until it's dark. We welcome new players, however the Club is now running at full capacity. If you would like to join please register on our Website, select C&GVC - Wait List as the Team, and we'll get in touch when space becomes available. We are looking for additional training sessions which will allow more people to join - so stay tuned for updates. We have 3 teams that you are welcome to join:
- Mixed team playing in the local Gloucestershire League
- Women's team playing in the regional South West League
- Men's team playing in South West League

🏐 Join Us for a Volleyball Tournament! 🏐

Once again we’re excited to co-host a fantastic 4-a-side volleyball tournament with Gloucester VC as part of the Polish Heritage Day 🇵🇱 celebrations!

🗓️ Date: 9th May 2026
⏰ Time: 11am start
📍 Location: Gloucester Park, Trier Way, Gloucester GL1 1LF
Details:

4️⃣-a-side teams
🔄 Additional substitutes allowed
🧒 1 woman on court at all times
🌱 Matches played on grass courts
🔞 Ages 16+
⚠️ Limited spaces available - first come, first served
💷 Entry fee: £50 per team

Prizes:
🥇 1st place: £150
🥈 2nd place: £100
🥉 3rd place: £50

Rules:
🏐 Group stage followed by playoffs
⏱ 30-minute games in the group phase - most points wins
🏆 Final phase - best of 2 sets
📋 Teams will referee matches when not playing
⏰ Be ready on time
⏳ 5 minutes delay = forfeit

Our men’s team travelled to Bristol for two South West League matches. A strong day overall with great team energy and signs that things are really starting to click on court.

The team showed solid passing, great setting and strong finishes throughout the day. The atmosphere on court was fantastic and made it a very enjoyable set of matches. Even though we couldn’t take both wins, it’s clear the team is getting stronger and continuing to grow together. 💪🏐

A tough result for our squad as Lydney took the win 3-0. We know we’re capable of much more than what we showed. Passing consistency challenged us and made it hard to find our rhythm, but every match is a chance to learn and grow.
We’re taking this one as fuel. Back to work, back to training, and focused on getting better every day. Grateful for the continued support - we’ll keep pushing and come back stronger. 💪🏐

Our SW Men's team was in action at Oasis Academy, Bristol.
Here’s how it went 👇

A really strong performance from the team, backed by a great atmosphere on court. Solid volleyball from start to finish and a well-deserved win.

Two tight opening sets where the fight was definitely there, but momentum slipped away in the third. Plenty to take forward from this one.

The last two training sessions saw C&G’s two GVA teams go head-to-head - and what a match it was! The game went the full distance, with Bournstars producing an unbelievable comeback after going two sets down. Some smart changes early on helped turn the momentum, and they eventually took the win in a thrilling fifth set. 💪🔥

This match really highlighted the progress being made and showed what a great decision it was to enter mixed-ability teams into the GVA. With so many close games already at the start of the 25/26 season, the extra court time is giving everyone the chance to grow and develop.

BournStars travelled to Malvern to take on a very strong SSOG Worcester side. 💪
The team showed great determination, pushing hard in the opening set but narrowly losing out 31–29. 🔥
Despite losing the next two sets, BournStars delivered a solid and committed performance throughout the match. 👏
