Our students and alumni are joining forces with Lost Voice Guy for an exciting new arts project exploring identity, self-expression and how people with disabilities want to be seen. ๐ŸŽจโœจ

The project is connected to Cerebral Palsy Puppet, Lost Voice Guyโ€™s 2027 tour. The show was inspired by his decision to replace the โ€œposh computer voiceโ€ on his communication device with a Geordie accent that better reflects who he is.

Working with contemporary artist Michael Mules and National Star tutor Louise Adams, students and former students are creating artwork shaped by their own stories, ideas and perspectives.

Lost Voice Guy, Lee Ridley, said: โ€œI have worked closely with National Star and its talented students in the past, and Iโ€™m delighted to be partnering with the organisation and Cheltenham Playhouse to bring this fantastic project to the region.โ€

We canโ€™t wait to share more from the project!

Butterflies are flying at National Star in Hereford! ๐Ÿฆ‹

This term, our Hereford learners have been caring for caterpillars and watching them transform into beautiful butterflies.

There was lots of excitement as they checked on them each day, seeing the incredible life cycle unfold right before their eyes.

After weeks of anticipation, the big day finally arrived as they released them into the garden, watching them take flight for the very first time.

A magical moment enjoyed by everyone, and one that will be remembered for a long time.๐ŸŒŸ

Veggie burgers on the menu at our Worcester college! ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฅ•

Our students on the Personal Development for Active Citizenship pathway have been busy in the kitchen, making veggie burgers from scratch.

They practised chopping, grating and cooking, all skills that will help them with everyday life after college. The mix was packed with carrots, onion, courgette, spinach, garlic, mushroom and celery, so plenty of those 5 a day went into every burger.

Turning bread into breadcrumbs in the blender turned out to be one of the highlights. Ruby and Taf loved this part, and Taf used a switch to blend the bread independently.

The kitchen smelled incredible, and the burgers tasted even better!

National Star in Wales family fun day recap! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ“ธ

Last Friday, we celebrated a whole decade of supporting and inspiring young people, families and our community in Wales.

There was plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including:

- Music by DJ John Mann ๐ŸŽถ
- Animal encounters with Animals Interactive ๐Ÿ‡
- Games and outdoor activities ๐ŸŽฒ
- Sweet treats and refreshments ๐ŸŽ‚

It was lovely to see our community come together, as we look back on ten remarkable years โ€“ and forward to whatโ€™s next.
