We've also produced a joint report outlining how the status reflects the latest sector-wide research and expertise on sustainable teaching, leadership and operations.

🔍 New research!

Colleges play an important role in equipping people and communities with the skills and knowledge needed to address today’s social and environmental challenges.

Our new research has explored how colleges in Scotland currently address sustainability in learning and teaching, revealing that:

🍃 Whilst there are inspiring examples of learning for sustainability and a clear interest from both staff and students, initiatives are often isolated and lack consistent support.

✏️ To truly make a difference, college management, funders, government and quality assurance bodies need to explicitly recognise, prioritise and better support staff and students to learn for sustainability.

🤝🏽 Collaboration between institutions, organisations and industry, plus adequate funding and further research will be important factors in enabling progress.
