Primary Tutor Vacancy – Fairview Education, Gloucester
We are looking for an experienced primary teacher or educator to join the Fairview Education team from September 2026.

The role involves providing one hour of small-group tuition each week in Gloucester, working with children at Upper Key Stage 2, and continuing throughout the academic year.

The tutor will support Y5 students from disadvantaged backgrounds to prepare for the 11+ and their secondary education.

What we're looking for:
- Strong primary teaching experience, particularly in Years 5 and/or 6
- Excellent subject knowledge and teaching skills
- A commitment to helping children build confidence and fulfil their potential
- Availability for one hour each week during term time

We are a local education charity providing extra academic tuition to students from disadvantaged backgrounds to help them prepare for the 11+ examination in Gloucestershire.

We loved doing a summer school with Sir Thomas Rich's grammar school today. We had great fun working with the students, looking at top tips for doing well in the 11+.

The students worked super hard and our tutors had a great time running their sessions on Maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.

Well done to all the students! Good luck in the 11+!

Fairview Education is thrilled to have been awarded the 2026 National Tutoring Award for a Small/Medium Tutoring Business. This is a great and prestigious award that marks all the hard work from our tutors, tutees and families in providing free 11+ tuition to students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Gloucester and Cheltenham.

The Free Tuition Bursary programme has a 72% success rate for students getting access to the grammar schools in Gloucestershire and this is all down to the hard work and commitment of the tutors and tutees, along with their families.

Applications are open for next year's Free Tuition Bursary programme that offers up to 30 after school sessions, in person, and in Gloucester or Cheltenham, to help students prepare for the 11+.

Applications are now open for Fairview Education's Free 11+ Tuition Bursary Programme.

The programme provides free weekly, in-person tuition in Gloucester for Year 5 pupils preparing for grammar school entrance tests and secondary schools, led by experienced teachers. Priority is given to those eligible for Free School Meals. Everyone is welcome to apply.

The next assessment will take place on Tuesday 24th June, 4.15–5.00pm in Gloucester.

Free Tuition Bursary programme in Gloucester is open for applications.

For Y5 students preparing for the 11+ (current Y4s).

For free.

In person, taught by experienced teachers.

And primarily but not exclusively for students eligible for Free School Meals.

It has had lots of success in the past preparing students for the 11+ and secondary school.

Free webinar on the FSCE 11+ assessment on Monday 11th May at 7.45pm. It's especially relevant for Y4 parents and carers.

It's run by Fairview Education, a local charity which provides free tuition to Free School Meal Y5 students to prepare them for the 11+.

The webinar will look at what we know and don't yet know about the new assessment, and how you can make informed decisions about the 11+ process at this stage.
