WILL YOU KONNECT WITH ME ?

As you possibly know I work for Christian Aid and this year we have been urging folk to do 70K in May .. in whatever way appeals to you the most…
I fully intended to do this , but sadly have had severe mobility issues since February, which has made me have to rethink.

Will you K-onnect with me?

How many connections can I get – either like or comment , but please donate a £1 ..(more if you feel generous)

Christian Aid has renewed its emergency appeal for Ukraine after devastating floods forced thousands of people to leave their homes after the Nova Kakhovka dam was blown up.
: 'The floods started while our local partner was already delivering food in the Kherson region as part of its normal relief work right next to the Dnipro river. They filled up their van with as many people as they could take back to the safety of their hub in Odesa'
Over the coming days Christian Aid's partners will be providing humanitarian supplies to people who have had to leave the affected areas of southern Ukraine.

Esthers Story
For 10 years, Esther grew pigeon peas on her farm. But she could never secure a fair price for her crop. Last year when Tropical Storm Ana washed away her crops, she felt desperate

Esther is doing amazing things for her family with her pigeon peas. She bought tools for her daughter Ziwone to use to learn carpentry and start her own business. Esther pays for her daughter Rashida’s lodgings near her school, a part-time tutor and school costs.

With the profits, Esther bought goats, and now has a herd of 13, who also provide manure for her crops, saving on expensive fertiliser. Now she is able to keep her pigeon peas in a warehouse, safe from floods and storms. Esther also bought a sewing machine.

Esther makes bread form Pigeon-pea flour and sells it locally.
‘We are a community that helps one another a lot, she says. ‘If people face a problem, we do not allow them to suffer alone.’

It’s thanks to our Christian Aid supporters that this change has been possible for Esther and her community. This gives us hope that, with your help, more women will be able to transform their lives.
