Hygiene poverty is isolating, shaming and excluding. Over 14 million people in the UK live in poverty - that is 1 in 5! Twoâthirds of children growing up in poverty live in a family where at least one person works, but they just donât earn enough to afford a decent standard of living. 1 in 10 girls cannot afford sanitary wear and many have to miss school.
We believe being clean and looking good makes us feel better, helps us fit into society, makes us more employable and children that 'fit in' perform better in school.
Recognising the trauma and anxiety caused by not having access to essential hygiene products, we provide toiletries, beauty, grooming and hygiene essentials to people who canât afford them, via charity partners across the UK. In Cheltenham so far we are working with Cheltenham Open Door and The Nelson Trust, Gloucester.
