Meet Louise! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Louise has been part of the Cowley Adventure team for 5 years as one of our brilliant zip wire instructors! 🌳💚

Louise’s favourite part of the job is seeing children who are nervous at first find the confidence to take the leap – and then queue up to go down the zip wire again and again! Watching that confidence grow never gets old.

When she’s not at Cowley Adventure, Louise is a teacher, a Brownie Unit Leader and District Commissioner in Dursley.

She’s probably watched over 200 children fly down the zip wire over the years, cheering every single one of them on! 🎉

We have 3 residential bookings left available in 2026 for our assembly hall at Cowley Adventure.

This space sleeps 18 young people and 6 adults, and has a fully equipped kitchen.

We were delighted to welcome over 100 guides to our site recently, as we played host to Girlguiding South West regions Tri-Tastic event for a weekend of adventure, teamwork and fun. ⛺️

With activities taking place across the site, beautiful weather and plenty of smiles, it was wonderful to see everyone trying new things and creating lasting memories.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it happen – it was a pleasure to host such a special weekend at Cowley Adventure! 🌿

Looking for a fun summer activity for your Guide? Book them onto our Guide Badge Day on Friday 7th August!

Led by experienced Girlguiding volunteers, the day is designed for Guides aged 10–14 and includes outdoor adventures, games, crafts and team challenges, with every participant earning a special badge to take home.

Parents, carers and Guide leaders can book. Whether attending with friends from their unit or independently, it’s a fantastic opportunity for Guides to enjoy a day of adventure and make new memories.

Expect crafts, games, treasure hunts, team challenges and outdoor adventures!

Led by experienced Girlguiding volunteers, each day is packed with fun, friendship and adventure, all linked to the Brownie programme.

We have axe-throwing, vertical challenge and crate stack - our 3 newest activities; pond dipping - an all-time favourite; and nights away, with the option to add a number badge too for 50p extra.

Thank you to the two groups of volunteers who helped at our recent service day. 🧤

It was such a great effort, with two benches given a coat of wood stain, all the campfire circles tidied and edged with logs, an area in the woods cleared of logs and branches ready for the Hammock area, weeding and digging, and a playground makeover. ✨
