Beyond Equality

Beyond Equality Promoting Positive Masculinity In most conversations about gender inequality and violence against women, men only hear about what not to do.

It is time to do more.

Proud to have partnered with the on Ignore the Noise. Trust Your Own Voice.

A campaign supporting young people to cut through harmful online narratives and build confidence in their own judgement.

We’ve created two toolkits:

One for young people - to help them build the skills and confidence to trust their own judgement, question what they see online, and navigate digital spaces more safely.

And one for trusted parents, carers and professionals working with boys to support conversations, spot online influences, and guide meaningful reflection.

This is about creating space to pause, think, and talk.

Tyrone Mings highlights how vulnerability is a real strength, especially in moments when things feel overwhelming or hard to navigate. It’s a reminder that you don’t have to carry everything alone - and that even the smallest step forward can start to ease that weight.
Whether it’s speaking up, checking in with someone, or simply acknowledging how you feel, those small actions can make a real difference in moving through pressure and uncertainty.

Sometimes connection starts with something simple - a laugh over chips.

With McCain, The Dad Joke Effect looks at how humour and everyday moments can open the door to deeper conversations about masculinities and emotional expression.

A very exciting one to share 👀

We’ve partnered with McCain on the Dad Joke Effect campaign all about the important role dads play in boys’ lives, and how humour and everyday connection can help boys feel emotionally supported as they grow up.

And now it’s officially out in the world… including on billboards 🤯❤️

The campaign is backed by research exploring dads’ relationships with their sons, the pressures boys face as they grow older, and the small moments that help keep connection alive.

There’s also a wholesome TV advert landing soon, plus a live comedy night in London on 1 July with Josh Widdicombe.

Huge shoutout to everyone involved in bringing this campaign to life - very proud to see it out there. Photos shot by featuring

We’re delighted to be partnering with on the Dad Joke Effect Campaign🍟

As boys grow older, many begin to suppress playfulness and emotional expression because of stereotypes around masculinity. But our latest research shows dads care deeply about staying connected with their sons and humour can be a powerful way to do just that.

Shared laughter builds trust, openness, and connection. Small moments really do matter.

Keep an eye out for the wholesome new TV advert coming to your screens soon 👀

And if you’re in London, join us at the McCain Comedy Club on 1 July, headlined by Widdicombe 🎤

What responsibility do organisations have when responding to domestic abuse involving their own personnel?

Last night, Beyond Equality was proud to join an important forum hosted by London Fire Brigade exploring leadership, accountability, and how Fire and Rescue Services can better support victim-survivors.

Representing BE, .guinness_be Guinness and contributed to honest and constructive conversations around organisational culture, meaningful leadership, and the importance of turning policy into practice.

It was powerful to hear professionals from across the sector share challenges, learning, and examples of good practice, all with a shared commitment to creating safer, more accountable workplaces.

Thank you to everyone involved for creating space for such important conversations.

A brilliant day representing Beyond Equality
at working with the next generation of creatives across marketing, advertising, design and communications.

The brief: How do we better engage young men in and around sport?

The responses were thoughtful, bold, and full of creativity, but what stood out most was how many students were thinking beyond campaigns, and focusing on impact.

Sport shapes identity, belonging, relationships, and culture. So does marketing. The stories we tell, the voices we amplify, and the behaviours we normalise all matter.

It was powerful to see students creating ideas that didn’t just aim to perform but to challenge stereotypes, spark conversation, and create change.

A huge thank you to everyone involved. The future of communications is in thoughtful hands. We are so excited to share some of the brilliant campaign ideas and create and bring to life the winning teams’ idea.

Extreme po*******hy is shaping how men and boys understand relationships, bodies, and power - and it’s happening at younger and younger ages.

Last night, we were at the launch of ‘Exposed: The Rise of Extreme P**n and How We Fight Back’ by Professor Clare McGlynn, a landmark book that names this harm clearly and asks what we’re going to do about it.

At Beyond Equality, working with men and boys is central to everything we do. We believe that if we want to build a more equal world, we need men and boys to be active participants in that change not bystanders. This means being honest about the environments shaping them. Extreme p**n normalises violence, degrades women, and distorts what healthy relationships look like and it lands in the hands of boys who are still figuring out who they are.

Clare’s research gives us sharper tools to have these conversations. Hosted by , events like last night remind us we’re not having them alone.

Thank you to everyone who showed up. 💙

Wonderful to be supporting the launch of Equal Parentkng week

This movement is really important and will have huge benefits for women, who are currently still expected to prioritize the care responsibilities and pay the price at work, and dads who are still expected to prioritize their work at the expense of their care responsibilities and family connections. It’s also going to have a big payoff socially & in terms of addition to the economy.

We need structural change, policy change, shifts in cultural expectations in and out of workplaces, additional support and training for parents, and so much more.

As Elliott Rae (founder of parenting out loud) said equal parenting is not going to be perfect, but the messy conversations are essential to have.

There’s space for masculinity to be caring, kind, and powerful.”

– Ben Hurst, Beyond Equality

There’s space to reimagine masculinities way beyond narrow ideals of dominance and appearance.

At Beyond Equality, that’s exactly what we’re working to do: creating conversations and spaces where young men can explore healthier, more expansive ways of being.
