Another brilliant show at the Essex HMVA 2026 Echoes of History in Rettendon !
Thank you to all the visitors who came on to the Pilgrim Bandits (Kent) stand and said hello, also thank you to Elsie the shiny Bedford 4 ton for being part of our Bandit display again.
Always a fantastic event with vehicles and displays through the ages, we had perfect weather and great company through the weekend.
Thank you Essex HMVA for letting us be part of such a brilliant event again and well done organising everything so smoothly.

The Echoes of History showground is really taking shape this afternoon, vehicles arriving, tents going up, and exhibitors getting everything ready for a fantastic weekend ahead.

If you’re planning your visit, don’t forget KIDS GO FREE, making this one of the best‑value family days out of the summer. There’s so much to see and do across the show: military vehicles, living history encampments, re‑enactment groups, family stalls, free hands‑on activities and plenty of great photo opportunities.

We're exploring a new way to support veterans and their families in Essex.

As part of our 100 Day Plan, we're looking at creating a dedicated Veterans Village community. This would offer tailored housing and better support. More than 50,000 veterans live in Essex, and many face real challenges when leaving the armed forces, including finding housing and employment.
